You should react to "Confessions on a Dancefloor" -album! It is one of the absolute best dance pop albums of all time! Once it was released it peaked at number 1 in 40 countries, earning a place in the 2007 Guinness World Records for topping the record charts in the most countries. While "Hung Up" peaked at number 1 in 41 countries (also earning a place in the Guinness World Records...) It sold over 12 million copies and the Confessions Tour was (and still is) amazing! What also made this record special was that the songs were sequenced and blended so that you could listen to the entire album without any gaps. It was made a record you could play in a club or at your house party without continuously changing songs and records :) So do a reaction to the whole album, have a cosmopolitan or two while reacting to this classic dance pop album

She is saying "I'm sorry" in many languagesat the beginning of the song. Maybe because she's dated men from lots of different countries and knows the routine when they f up? She does all the choreo in the "Confessions" tour. She learned to roller skate a few days before shooting (she's athletic, so she figured it out fast, even at the age of 48). Her personal trainers explain that when she tours, she's treated like a professional athlete, because of all the dancing while aging a few years for each tour. She ended the Madame X tour because of COVID. They closed the tour in Paris so she didn't perform the final two shows. She contracted COVID while performing in France, thought she had a flu, rescheduled some dates and performed even though she felt "under the weather." Then she tested positive for the antibodies. So the woman TOURED through COVID while sick at 61. She's a bad-ass. She just posted about the 31 year anniversary of the "Like a Prayer" video, incidentally. A black man is framed for a murder in the video and she's a witness who comes forward to free him, even though she's threatened. She kisses a crying black saint in the church, crying due to racial injustice. Pepsi pulled it's ad campaign because they though she was being too controversial with burning crosses and kissing a black saint. 31 years later, Americans are protesting in the streets for weeks on end. So, yeah, her songs and videos are durable and important.

Fun fact about this song: There was a TV show called Pimp My Ride in which they gave makeovers to old vehicles and pimped them up. For this video, the British version of that show pimped up a white van and really turned it out! Madonna was featured on that episode and it was very interesting to watch.

Holy Water/Vogue from Rebel Heart Tour!!! How’s Sorry underrated? It was no 1 in 7 or 8 countries including UK. It didn’t do so well in the US but she was kind of ignored there... Hung Up went no 1 in 41 countries but only managed no 7 in US. Now if we had KZbin and streaming back then it would have definitely reached no. 1 but it’s not how song chart it’s how they are remembered.

It's true, Madonna brought back the leotard during the Confessions era, i member people found it weird at the time and made fun of her cause of that, but soon after during that era Dolce&Gabbana came out with a confessions inspired collection with leotards, 2 weeks later you started to see leotards at ZARA, Sarah jessica Parker started her first line that had leotards, Madonna's collab with H&M had leotards. Victoria Beckhams line had them, Then that's when all female pop artists fallowed suit and incorporated leotards as part of their costume during performances. (Gaga, Beyonce, Britney-revisited, Christina-revisited, Nickki..... now the leotard is a staple for female performers/entertainers). ...The power of Madonna. She brought back cowbow hats in 2000, there was a baret phase I went through during the American Life era.. during this time Madonna was rocking the stocking/leggings with heels and the tweed and plad blazers and jackets... that was all part of the American Life era fashion she was rocking, then 2 years later, BAM that look was everywhere...

It's an homage to the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando, Florida. She sings the beginning through clenched teeth, she's so mad about our nation's inability to get gun control right. "God control" lyrics shift to "gun control" during the song. "We've lost God control" becomes "We've lost gun control."
