I’m happy to see she didn’t raise the price of her palettes like ALL the other brands. Vol 4 is still my favorite color story wise. But this one is still really pretty.

Although the price is the same, it’s still too high for what the palette offers. Vol 4 is my favorite because it offers a fantastic formula and many multichromes, but this palette doesn’t offer many. Only 3-4 this time around instead of 8-10 like in Vol 4. I do think the price could have been lower, just my opinion.

I just got the palette in the mail and it’s beautiful, still yet to try it. I do have to say that this wasn’t an easy purchase like Vol 3 and 4 because overall I don’t think it’s worth the price tag. This palette is advertised mainly as a “chrome” palette with very unique formulations. Vol 3 and 4 were known for multichromes. This year, I can only see 3 true multichromes compared to the 10 that was in Vol 4. I understand the unique formulas, but it doesn’t justify the high price tag especially given the the fact that it’s made in the PRC. I would have loved the palette to be priced at $85-90 because it would make more sense. I love DMB, but if future palettes continue to have less specialty shades then I’ll have to stop myself from buying them.

I got this palette and I think it’s definitely worth the money. It layers great over itself and other bases. The shine is out of this world. The colors work really well with each other. I prefer this over LW4 myself, but they’re all beautiful

Have you ever tried the silicone applicators she makes? They make alll the difference. I actually use them with all my multichromes now, not just here. You get a perfect chrome layer and it lays down the flakes too

The powerful shade is really cool. I remember seeing someone on Reddit say they wanted to create their own multichrome that was blue and red after a dream they had, and I’ve never seen that type of a shift in any indie brands before. I have a huge multichrome collection but haven’t seen any shades like that! It’s so stunning. I hope some indie brands try and create something similar because I don’t know if I can justify buying this palette myself, though I’d love to have that one shadow 😂 it looks pretty but I think I liked the look of the last one better. I hope to one day be able to try her brand! Loved the looks you created ❤ so stunning. I was looking forward to your review about this and you did not disappoint! Also I disagree with you saying multichromes aren’t meant to be layered, sometimes that’s half the fun is seeing how they look over different shades! Though I get what you’re saying, like if you want it to show true to itself then don’t layer it. But it can be a fun little science experience sometimes to try them together ❤

The Lightworks palettes are STUNNING, and they swatch beautifully. I also really like that there are lot of lighter, less intimidating shades in this one than in Lightwork IV. Definitely something I'll be tempted by during the Sephora sale (although I did get the shade Fearless as a single shadow in the SEPHORiA Gold swag bag).

I don’t know if you noticed but your purple silver eye shifted to bronzy silver and it was like woah! I like how this palette does stealth understated too. Got mine yesterday and kept it low key and it’s damn fine even for office (if i had one)

Super interesting review...do you think there's a place for DM lightworks V if you're also a PM collector? I've got most of the PM quads and motherships (except the latest, more pink and no baked, boo) plus lightworks IV. I've actually got this too for 25% off but haven't used it yet as I'm not sure whether I should keep it given how much other shadow I have! Do you think these formulas/colours add something that isn't already covered by PM and the previous LM palette?

I missed out on the Lightwork III two years ago and I was super sad… So I asked for the Lightwork palette IV for Christmas last year as I did not want to spend that much for one palette and let me tell you it is THE BEST palette I've ever tried, so smooth and pigmented. I love to do eyeliners with theses eyeshadows, they are so buttery. I'm so glad I have it and I will definitely spend it now that I've tried it. The one from this year is a little too orang-y for me and not as impactful for some reason? And yet I still want to try it :') Thank you Morgan, you're doing an AMAZING job! Lots of love

I have last years palette (volume 4) and I loved all the colors except for the water activated liners. I ordered it and can’t wait to receive it to start playing with it. I have lightworks III. I love it, but don’t use it very much. I love how creamy they feel, but they tend to travel and break up a bit on my lid throughout the day. Gorgeous colors, though. I won’t be getting this one, although it’s gorgeous.

Try using a eye primer like the ulta beauty one!! Multichromes tend to have oils that make them separate quickly so using a good eye base helps extend the wear!!

I’m still on the fence with the Lightwork palette. I recognize the artistry and the quality, but I also have a collection of multichromes from indie brands that still need some more loving. That being said, I think the advantage of the Lightwork palette over indie is the curation, especially for the make up enthusiast who hasn’t yet delved into indie singles or who are still intimidated by the wide variety of singles to choose from.

I never really use my fingers for eyeshadow and I manage fine. If you hate using your fingers just keep the sponge applicators in cheapy palettes and they work very similar. I typically figure it out with a brush though, I'm just heavy handed I think lol

Hi thank you for the review! I have a quick question, do the shades like Strong and Fierce have a black base to it? Like the Jeweled Multichrome formula from Clionadh? I find those turn muddy if I blend them with a brush so I always need to use a black base and I don’t really like that 😵‍💫

I am so conflicted. I missed Vol 4 and was super in love with it because I dont have multichromes. But this palette doesnt have as many so I feel like its nort worth the price. However, I tend to not like to dip into multiple pallettes and this one seems more cohesive...And i dont know how I would feel about water activated shades from vol 4. :/ I cant deciiide!

I just swatched the middle row of this palette in Sephora and before I left the mall it had all rubbed off already. Like ALL of it. Which is not something I’ve experienced with other high end palettes I’ve done this with. So are these supposed to be applied a very special way? I love the look of the palette but I feel like it would fall off my face just like it did my hand, with out any real wear.
