Babs Barnhoorn I disagree, since English is a language that can be learned, and it's totally acceptable when people sing it with their original accents (think Shakira). "Country" is not a language. But there is a southern accent associated with it. I'm from TN, and maybe if people would sing country without pretending they have a "country" accent, it wouldn't bother me. I just find the fake accent extremely distracting.
