Four Symphonic Pictures from Vietnamese Folk Song for orchestra (2013) 11’
DANG HUU PHUC is a Vietnamese composer and pianist. He was trained both piano and composition at of the Vietnam National Academy of Music.
He also received training at Conservatoire national supérieur de musique de Paris CNSMP(1991-1992) .He taught piano and composition in the Vietnam National Academy of Music.
His works for piano solo were played by Dang Thai Son (Champion of the International Chopin piano competition 1980) including “Suite”(1973), “Sonate polyphonique”(1978) and “A bunches of Vietnam flowers”(2009)His most well known works for orchestra are : “Pizzicato Vietnam”(2009), “Suite for string”(2012), ouverture “Fete”(2003), “Eight symphonic pitures from Vietnamese folk songs”(2013).
His works have been performed in many places in the world such as France, USA, Canada, Australia, China, Korea ... and have been recorded CD in Japan. He also wrote many works for vocal including “60 selected romance and song for vocal and piano”, “10 pieces for A cappella”(2004), “The country”(1973) for chorus and orchestra.
He won the “JIN JUE prize” for Best music at Shanghai International Film Festival 8th in june 2005.

No 1 and No 2, using folk songs and folk music in the northern mountains of Vietnam.
No 3 and No 4, using folk songs in northern Vietnam QUAN HO, is a UNESCO-rated folk song of the intangible cultural heritage
1. The author used a folk melody of the Thai people to paint a picture of the mountains.
2. Titled "highland market" depicts a dawn scene, people and horses go to the market and join in a colorful festival.
3. The author used the melody of a folk song, Quan Ho, about the memory of his lover.
4. This piece describes a fun, humorous folk festival in the QUAN HO area.
