They likely couldn't find sprites for them that actually had their weight correct. It's more-so the sprite creators fault and not the posters, they wanted to use different sprites and likely could only find the slimmed down ones. I know in a lot of genderbent fanart their weight is luckily kept the same! Sprite editors probably can't figure it out or have some weird thing with them having to be within beauty standards.
