Hello everyone! Thank you for your patience and I genuinely apologise for the lack of updates. Like I mentioned in the video, life has been excruciatingly stressful and hectic for me. Once it all dies down, I will try my best to work hard and get future episodes done ASAP! Hopefully it won’t take too long for the next few chapters… I’m quite insecure of my voice but I wanted to try something new this time! I’m not from a European or North American country so I apologise if my accent makes it hard to decipher what I’m saying. I don’t exactly have a proper microphone setup either so please excuse the audio quality! Due to my lack of free time, I had to cut out a lot of parts in this video. Otherwise, it would’ve only been released by the end of the year… Here’s some additional questions and fun facts I’ve answered! Which character's design is your favourite from this series? > I’d have to say Izanami because I absolutely adore ethereal lolita fashion. I also really like “The Devil’s” design but you guys won't see it that soon. HD is very aesthetically unique compared to others. Why is that? > Many fangans tend to go for a more modern, futuristic or geometric look, HD on the other hand has a more regal look to it as it features organic shapes in the UI design. What's something you regret with the series so far, if you have any? > This isn’t much of a regret but I don’t actually enjoy regal aesthetics in UI that much. I personally prefer modern, clean designs like Side Story’s. However, this fancy look that HD has did make it stand out! What part do you enjoy most while working on the story? > Writing angst… I like sad, emotional things….. I am a very sad person who has many sad thoughts… I won’t lie… This process is a total hit or miss. The way our staff was formed was through a recruitment process and chance encounters. Some people work on HD for years while others work on it for a day and disappear forever. Even so, I truly am grateful for the help that my staff have given me because without them, HD would’ve probably taken another ten years… How hard was it to connect the Main Story and Side Story together? > It wasn’t hard at all because they were interconnected from the start. Are there any canon romantic relationships? > It’s complicated… I write most of the relationships in a way that’s hinted but not confirmed. You can ship whatever you like as long as it’s not weird. There’s additional guidelines stated in the Discord server but to summarise it: Don’t ship Takeshi with a girl because he’s gay. Don’t ship Rei with anyone because she’s mentally a child. Don’t be a weirdo and ship incest or the adults with the young adults. How much research did you do for the project? > Like mentioned in the video, most of the characters are written based on my personal experiences. For example, I have a black belt in Taekwondo, I used to be a debater for my school, I also study game development in university! This obviously doesn’t apply to everyone, but for others I do some general research to understand and get the gist of the topic! What are some of the unexpected struggles you faced when making a Fanganronpa project? > If I had to be completely honest? The hate. No one will prepare you for the lack of respect and empathy people have towards you because they think you can dedicate your entire life to working on your project when you might have other obligations like education and work. I’ve also received hate from people insulting the art. People don’t seem to realise that I’m literally just a 20 year old kid and this is my first ever passion project. I’m not a professional working for Spike Chunsoft that can create the next Danganronpa. At the end of the day, I’m a total amateur at all of this. I don’t mind criticism, in fact, I welcome it as long as it is constructively written! Being told “This just sucks”, “This makes me want to bleach my eyes”, “The characters are so bland” won’t help me at all. Of course the characters may seem “boring” at first, it’s literally just the prologue… You don't know anything about the characters yet. Which characters did you enjoy writing the most? > Denshi and Tomoya! Tomoya is someone I heavily relate to and Denshi is one of my older Danganronpa OCs (before HD was even conceptualised)! You haven’t seen them yet but the Himura Clan is also super fun to write! Their dialogue just flows out without needing to think much about it! Is the webtoon canon to the HD universe and why did you create it? > The webtoon was just for fun! It wasn't for any further purpose than I enjoy drawing comics/webtoons. It also helps expand on Yumeo and Izanami.

I know that this was nearly a year ago, but I can't genuinely believe people can hate on DRHD. It is until now the best fanganronpa I have ever watched despite it only having a prologue and two interlude episodes, that might be due to the length they had, in a span of like 5 hours it was enough for you and the staff to create a masterpiece amazing to enjoy. The cast? I grew attached to them in a short time, they were easy to understand, you can deduce who they'd be friends with or what can lead them to act that way, which is why I can't genuinely despise any of them- they are too interesting for me to feel any disgust. The cast is BEAUTIFUL, both in design and in personalities. It wasn't a hard watch! You could UNDERSTAND them (well, we don't fully know them as they might change while time passes for some development or they're a mystery that awaits for US, the viewers!) Your art style is GORGEOUS. How could anyone manage to dislike this fangan due to its visual apartment, even if it's one of the strongest points of it? (Personally, the writing is so fucking peak, Rimu dgaf to these people, they clearly don't know how to appreciate an excellent fangan!) So, this was my small rant, I'm not an American which means this is as much as I'll write, I only want you to know that DRHD is my light, I adore it with every inch of my soul, and I'm glad that you're trying so hard to make one of your passion projects end up being perfection itself! Many reasons - People think it's funny to write stuff like this - People are too young to understand or too ignorant to understand how hurtful this is (which they shouldn't be here considering it's Danganronpa) - People think we care of their baseless or personal hate which we don't Etc.

If you guys are having struggle in creating the murder cases, I recommend studying all of danganronpas murder cases and search actually murder cases of different kinds, also you need to remember limitations or maybe some bad luck in creating fan murder cases cuz I made the same mistake when I tried making one (example: leon could not access the incinerator and had to improvised) the limitations or bad luck can be anything. I'm so sorry about the hurtful comments you've been seeing/receiving. I will never understand people who go out of their way to hate on peoples' hard work they've created purely out of love (of course it's unacceptable in any circumstance though) they're truly just miserable people. Thank you so much for the update and don't feel bad about prioritising your personal life! HD's prologue was extremely enjoyable and I could clearly see the amount of effort and passion that was put into it. Hi, a fan from Europe here. I, on the first approach, was "Okey" to this project. For the second attempt, yes a month later, I am really full of admiration, for the ideas, cast, plot and details. Now I really love your project and would also like to see the first chapter as soon as possible. However, it is important to keep physical and mental health as the biggest priority. This fangan is one of my favorites by far! I am loving the art and characters and i'm sorry to hear you've been getting hate on a fan project of all things! It takes an insane level of passion and dedication to create a fangan with a small team with basically no budget, and HD has done amazing! Murder cases are definitely the hardest part of danganronpa but how I write them is to write out your closing argument first with the basic murder and how it was done and then work backwards from there by adding how they attempted to hide the evidence, their obstacles they encountered during the plan, who they attempt to scape goat if anyone, etc. Anything that muddies up the case for our cast to solve. Luckily, the first case in danganronpa is usually more simple so they're easy to start out with to get in the swing of things. Also, the most important thing anyway is the characters! The more memorable cases in danganronpa for me weren't the most difficult ones, but rather, the ones that made me feel something. So if you don't fully nail the mystery but nail the emotional beats, you will still have a great class trial.

Take your time, Rimu Making a fangan can be really time consuming, so don't rush it. Besides, your health and education are important so focus on them too. I love this project and I'm so glad it became as popular as it is! :D I followed the instagram account for multiple years before it really took off, so seeing this now feels crazy to me. This project inspired me heavily to work on a sequel for my current ongoing fangan, actually taking the challenge to make it a KZbin series, as well as putting sooo much more effort into every part of it - from writing to management and everything inbetween. You might not read this but I was introduced to your fangan by a good buddy of mine a few months ago. And I fell in love with it. It has so much potential to be up there alongside the other popular well loved fangans out there! It got me back into my Danganronpa loving phase and inspired me to keep up my old fangan and rewrite it! (Thanks for that Rimu lololololo) As much as I'm hyped for more updates, I understand and respect that you need to focus on college and exams. Alongside your well being is very important.
