I am really disappointed. Celeste is a character I really didn't like but looking back and I started to ease up on her and now she's actually one of my favorites. I can get over her being killed off cause it's something that can't be really changed but I have to say, she deserved a MUCH better trial. This trial was a mad show that felt really goofy and Celeste deserved so much better. I could kinda see her being the guilty one in the beginning of the chapter but as soon as we got the MTB with her it was completely obvious. With her being the gambler and a master of manipulation, I really wanted to see her interact with Togami more but overall, she deserved a much more complex and interesting trial.

I know why she was burned. it's because she always wished to be treated like a queen, (if you played the game/or watched the anime you would know) and monokuma being the person he is made sure she died with despair and when queens are acaused of witch craft would be burned to death and in this case she was "proven of witchcraft" (a.k.a murder)

I get it that a witch being burned at the stake is gothic and unique and all but seriously she wouldn't have looked like a queen at all when the flames actually reached her and she'd start screaming from the unbearable pain. The way I saw her final smile was her way trying to keep her "poker face" in the worst possible moment, just like Makoto thinks her final smile looked like poor effort to force it, and that she lied claiming she coul fool her own feeling into not having fear for an horrible death. She was intelligent, cunning, and actually helpful in the first half of the game. She kept Alter Ego safe, and passed it onto the others when she knew they could keep it safe. She accepted her death with pride and dignity. She didn’t try to hide, to run. She took it like a queen. She is Celestia Ludenburg/Taeko Yasuhiro, and she didn’t deserve to die. Celeste was an amazing character to the game and animation. She was mostly calm in situations and wanted to be speacial more than ordinary. Celeste had a good life.

The only reason I don't feel sorry for her being executed is her reason for being the mastermind behind Taka's death and killing Yamada. She was driven by greed and a very ridiculous fantasy.
