I feel bad for Kaito. He was captured by Kokichi and trapped in a secure area, so he only needed to disable Kokichi so he could escape. In the process, somehow Maki shows up and shoots Kokichi. Kaito, being the kind soul he was, protected Kokichi from the second arrow, which would have killed Kokichi and made Maki the blackened. After a few events happened, Maki tries giving Kaito the antidote but Kokichi punches him to the floor and pretends to drink it. Then he forces Kaito to drink the antidote, making him indebted to Kokichi even though he really wasn’t. Then Kaito was blackmailed to help him with the plan and was forced to kill Kokichi so Maki wouldn’t be the blackened. All I know is, holy crap Kaito.

@@fanofultimatemadoka4 in game Maki had great character development. She was raised to be cold and not trust anyone, but she did everything- had grueling training that would kill a person’s soul. And she did it to protect the orphanage. She’s cold at the beginning, and she didn’t tell anyone her talent because she didn’t want people to distrust her. The character development she gets with Kaito is amazing and so underrated- notice how all the survivors of V3 had amazing character development? Also pregame selves are not canon, lol

the reason of why kaito killed kokichi is bc kaito didnt want to die in a normal way since he was sick and he khew he was dying slowly that's why he wanted to have an execution so it could have been more brutal but the execution failed and he died of his sickness during half of execution which made monokuma really mad

dont forget he aslo saved maki as well and while it would be an interesting excuation for her and could had lived but ya gotta remember what came before because honsetly he had almost every right while he was a jerk and revealed her idenity like he could had simply drop a note at the detective saying that shes the assassin and stole her motive video and left it outside or something to back up that claim i feel like only then the story might had differed but he choose to do that to get along with everyone and they ignored two of his attempts then gonta case he saw the outside world alone which a chapter later he gives them the weapons so would that mean he went to that minigame alone?......he was probably depressed as love he knew it was gone which is probably when he started to plan his death........and it would had won if the detective hadent been confident which would give monokuma the excuse to end everyone

Assisted suicide of the anti-hero. Chapter 5 has always been a suicide of some sorts with the victim being an active participant in the planning of their death. Point Sakura who poisoned herself, Nagito planned and execute his own entire death using his pure talent that would have Chiaki blackened and Kokichi who pretty much planned his death with the hydraulic press in the matter of minutes cause of the poison in his veins. Also the fact that Kokichi had come up with plan after plan to try and get everyone out (except himself) really makes you wonder about his mental health state if the plans he came up with always meant he was going to die.

I get it. He has done really bad things but personally, in the end I think he was a good guy. I mean, he had a whole board in his room that was dedicated to finding who the mastermind really is. And the most thing that I like about him is that he's realistic. He knows that he shouldnt trust anybody because anyone can kill anyone. It's a killing game so killing will happen one way or another ( I personally find the others really annoying when they keep saying 'they couldn't have killed them, they're our friends' and stuff like that so I'm relieved that Kokichi is realistic because I would probably not trust anyone either if I was in a killing game.)
