Everone would know everyone's motives and murder wouldn't happen. Chapter 4: (although it's really hard to describe) He wanted to stop the game by killing everybody. Chapter 5 in general, explanation is in the game. He generally does everything the mastermind would curse him for.

That symbolism with the dancing and how those who defied Shirogane simply stood is stunningly delicious. Fits really well into the whole "show" that is Danganronpa in the V3 world and Shirogane being the "ringleader / choreographer" thing really, really well. Also the song choice was really good? I really love the details when 1st one Kaede , rantaro and Kokichi doesn’t dance along It shows how like they dont wanna follow along with tsumugi’s plans (like Kaede tries to keep everyone together, rantaro trying to stop it with his advantage and kokichi with his ability to spot lies or something like that) Those 3 weren’t fooled while the others were in a way The the 2nd one were there were only Shuichi ,maki , Himiko,kiibo and tsumugi They we’re still fooled but then 3rd one where Junko the 53rd was revealed only Shuichi wasn’t dancing along because he wasn’t fooled with the whole “oh hope must win” or “despair will win” And in the end nobody was dancing along with tsumugi anymore because they all made up their minds about not voting I honestly really love these parts ^^

I like the theory where Tsumugi is just another remnant of despair and she literally made it look like Danganronpa was a tv show on its 53th season while it actually just plays around the time of DR2. All 'real' versions of Kaede, Shuichi and Kaito doing auditions are actually Tsumugi in disguise.

SPOILERS! *kokichi tried to stop the killing game a lot of times. i'm not saying he was a "saint", but he is definitely not a bad person* Chapter 2: During the insect meet and greet, he wanted everyone to watch the motives video together so that everyone would know what motive everyone would have. Kaito even pointed this out and said that if that happened, they would all "face it" altogether. Chapter 3: Although he didn't try to mess directly with the mastermind, you can tell that he was clearly trying to help the investigation (I think he was even one step forward than Shuichi when he bumped his head in the floorboard). And besides, Himiko wouldn't be in clear suspicion if his trip didn't happen. Chapter 4: Miu was trying to kill Kokichi for her own selfish reasons. Specifically, "The world needs my inventions, I can't die here. I'm sorry, just give up Kokichi." she told her than in the VR. Kokichi didn't even tell everyone he was the "mastermind" at this point, so Miu didn't pick him because of that reason. Kokichi did in fact sacrifice Gonta. But I wouldn't say Gonta's death was in vain. Kokichi knew Miu had plans to kill him, and he couldn't tell anyone because nobody would believe him anyway. If Gonta didn't kill Miu, her plan would've succeeded. She can lie all she wants about the VR and nobody would know the true cause of Kokichi's death, and Kaito will be pinned as the culprit because they are lacking evidence. Everyone would make the wrong decision and be executed at this point if Gonta didn't do what he did. *i feel really bad at the point where Shuichi told Kokichi that "nobody wants to be by your side" when they all rushed to help Kaito. Especially if you have read theories about Kokichi's past, and where he couldn't tell anyone Miu was planning to kill him. Chapter 5: The game explained everything how Kokichi wanted to stop the killing game. I feel so bad for him when he died, everybody still accused him for being a "Remnant of Despair". Chapter 6: I was amazed how he wrote the will in his room that became a huge clue in finding out what's inside Rantaro's lab. I wouldn't say his plan "failed", because if that was his only plan, he wouldn't have wrote his will. That means he has a backup plan somehow believing that Shuichi would find out the secret of his death. He is still helping the group even though he is gone. In short, everything about Danganronpa V3 and Kokichi makes my heart hurt. I wish Kodaka could've developed his character more, he stayed as a mysterious person in the end. That is his charm however I believe his 'counterparts' from the other games, Komaeda and Byakuya had a small redeption ark to where we knew more about them. Kokichi is such an amazing character. *EDIT* Kokichi is a well written character. You either love him or you hate him, that won't change. But also is the fact that he also wanted to end the killing game, but he has his own ways and most of the time, it didn't fit the main characters' way making him appear as a "villain".

You cannot ask for more about Kokichi. It has to be this way. There's no undeniable fact that Kokichi was either helping everyone or only thinking about himself. Because his motives are so ambiguous, and his lies makes him seem untrustworthy, you cannot be sure of what sort of person Kokichi is really like. You have to have a belief in what you think he's like. It's no different to the ending. There's no undeniable evidence that makes Tsumugi's words as an absolute fact, but what she says can indeed be the truth. There's no way to know. Truth or Lies, it doesn't matter. If both are questionable, then what matters is what you believe in.

In trial 4, he may have done what he did out of panic. I doubt that in his state of mind he thought about the moral implications of making Gonta kill Miu. Motives have been an overarching theme of Danganronpa, that if pushed in a particular direction, anyone is capable of murder. For Kokichi, that push was the threat of imminent death. Because of the game they're forced to play, both the blackened and the killed can be considered victims, one of Monokuma and one of the blackened, respectively. He didn't want to be yet another victim of the game, so he panicked and found a way around his seemingly inevitable death. I really doubt that at the time, he did it for some high and mighty reason, like that he was the only person who could defeat the mastermind. He was just scared. Then when he has to look Gonta in the eye right before the execution, he breaks down: the implications of his actions are staring him in the face, and he's overcome with guilt. Hence the whole "take me too" stuff. After the execution he puts back on his Evil Kokichi mask, because that's how he's learned to deal with trauma and other feelings that better writers have explained elsewhere. The excuse he gives for why he was previously crying is pretty flimsy. I doubt 1) the "truth" would make Gonta go off the rails, and 2) Monokuma would allow any interference from Gonta anyway. All in all, while Kokichi's actions in the other trials hint at his redeeming qualities, trial 4 shows that, despite what some believe, he's not a saint. But that's the point of Danganronpa: it's about the duality of good people and the terrible things they're capable of doing.

I like how at one point while Tsumugi is walking away from the people who killed Kokichi appears behind her smiling, then there's a scene where she looks back and appears shocked. I think its to say she wasn't expecting Kokichi to come up with his plan, which he used to mostly ruin her game. It goes to show how Kokichi really did put a stop in the masterminds plans, and I didn't really go to waste.

it’s been years since this video has released, and i’m still obsessing over the small details such as Rantaro, Kaede and Kokichi not dancing at 1:29 , as if to say they where different from the others. Kokichi appearing with the killers for a split second at 1:50 because he was a accomplice to Miu’s murder. Kokichi i front of Tsumugi at 1:59 because he faked being the mastermind, like being a mask for her and so many other details. Love this video 💗

At 1:28, everyone is dancing except for Kaede, Rantaro, and Kokichi. It's because the people who are dancing are still part of Tsumugi's controls, while the ones standing still realized Tsumugi's plan and plans to not go along with it. Now, that's actually just Kokichi's case. Kaede and Rantaro stopped dancing as they were dead and already were apart of Tsumugi's plan.
