Was thinking of buying a Gibson 335 or 339 and after doing a lot of research on those and alternative options I chose the Excel Mini DC for all the reasons shown in this and the other video also with Myles. I already have an EXL-1 that is brilliant. Think D'Angelico's are the most under rated guitars out there. Seems a lot of people agree with me as there's none to be had in Canada with a 3 - 6 mos wait list for the Mini DC!

The headstock is a replica of the 1930's D'Angelicos built by the man himself in his shop on the lower East side of Manhattan. The Art Deco style of the headstock is killer. Sorry you don't like it. I love my Excel DC XT. Great guitar.

Is the neck thin? As a modern C shape Fender Stratocaster neck? I've got small hands; I can probably find it in the specs, but I'd someone happens to know how it compares to the Strat let me know! Thanks!

Hey! It's similar to modern C shape Stratocaster neck but with a flatter radius and it's set (not bolt on). At the first fret, the depth is 20mm and at the 12th it's 22mm.

as a person with the same small hands issue, i can tell you its among the few guitars out there with as comfortable a neck as a strat. the flatter fretboard is glorious too

The touch of dirt he added was just right - unlike most electric guitar demos on youtube where the dirt is insanely heavy. I put 2 Duncan 59's on my old SG. They are fine PU's. I like the size of the semi-hollow guitar in this video, but its' 16" fretboard radius means I would not buy it.

I generally hate flat fretboards, but I have played this, and the ergonomics are excellent. The flat fretboard helps with left hand muting, so your compound chords come out super beautiful.
