To be clear, most of those animal-human encounters were animals that had gotten used to specific people (whether raised by, grew up with, or rescued by them), so don't rely on this video to dictate all your wild animal encounters; and feeding wild animals could make them more dangerous if they learn to get all their food from humans

@@rancon265 Raised, you can't train out instinct because you want a pet. Can't train out an apbts DA and AA, genetics and instinct, they're used in the pits to this day, as well as pantheras. Can't train out a cat using it's claws, again, instinct. All animals have instinct and genetics, Why do you think you have to train a hunting dog to not chase small moving things such as cats? They will still be wild animals, no matter how they are raised.

4:19 This is Dean Shneider. He owns a reserve in Africa where he, and a bunch of volunteers, care for animals. He has a pride of lions, and that lion is likely Dexter, the alpha. Dean (and his main silent cameraman) are both part of the pride, but anyone else would likely be attacked. He also has a pack of dogs that has a wolf in it, a spotted hyena named Chucky (who they still don’t know the gender of), some cheetahs, monkeys, and tones of other animals on their reserve. They are practically kept wild, except for the monkeys who are domesticated and the pack of dogs/wolf who act like, well, pets. I highly recommend watching him.

Kevin Richardson (the guy you saw riding the lion) is a well-known conservationist who rescues wild animals when they're babies. He did not "infiltrate" a wild pride of lions. He would be dead now were that the case. He *raised* every single lion you see in any of his videos on his massive preservation. He also has hyenas on his preservation, that he also raised himself. He even accompanies the lions on some of their hunts (not of hyenas, they each have their own preservations, but of small animals and such). Anyway, it's bad advice to suggest someone can just walk into a pride of lions and become one of the pride instead of instant food. It's interesting to speculate about such things, but that's far from being an interesting *fact*. Otherwise, great video, so thank you.

The moray eel shown in the thumbnail at 0.30 is a tesselata moray. I actually have one (as well as a snowflake moray eel, which is far smaller) both are very friendly with myself, are curious and quite intelligent. I can put my hand in the tank with both of them with little worry about being bitten. I do not ever hand feed them only because morays have a great sense of smell but very bad eyesight and when they are being fed, they tend to get a little excited and they could accidently end up biting me as a result of not being able to differentiate my hand from their food so I use a feeding stick to give them their meals. However when cleaning their tank, neither of them have ever acted aggressively towards me in any way and both usually allow me to pet them. If they are not in the mood for interaction though, they simply retract into their caves and I know to leave them be.

Also every animal has a soul, if you raise them or even give them some love they will give it back tenfolds. And I think it's very important to not be afraid of them, that could cause most of the attacks, because if they feel that you are afraid of them the won't just think of you as a prey but they will also see you as a threat too. Male platypus have a spur on their hind claws that actually does carry venom. EDIT: After further research, there are other venomous mammals aside from the platypus. Thanks for getting me to learn even more cool animal facts.

That’s how the first humans domesticated wolves. Some wolves were born without the trait that makes them violent and untamed so they started hanging out with humans.

Cheetahs won't attack people unless they're extremely desperate, they'll just walk away if you encounter them in the wild. BUT, if you have some snacks (meat) they'll eat what you offer them. If you do this a few times they'll begin feeling comfortable around you and may let you pet them, same goes for servals and caracals. In fact, servals are at the same stage dogs were when they first started becoming domesticated, and will oftentimes seek out people for food and companionship. Our female serval, rescued from an illegal breeding situation, was born in captivity and far too tame to be returned to the wild, so we took her in and she lives with us. It's like owning a cross between a greyhound and a domestic cat; some dog traits, some cat traits, and overall a great companion, but she does have a lot of energy and needs daily exercise and lots of play time.
