Indian team was so weak at that time lack of genuine fast bowlers also they didn't have much odi specialist players untill sehwag yuvraj then dhoni came, in that match yuvraj was in his early days in international cricket

This was golden era...the fixing was at extreme and anything was possible...less use of technology and the camera...ICC norms were not so strict..! Many shocking results were seen in that era...! I am from maharashtra, india but it was embracing an associate nation defeated us twice first time in 1998 gawalior and second time in this game. Now our blind people will say " oo that kenyan team was extraordinary" but the indian team was far ahead to them.
