It appears it had a two pole contactor with the fan common on the line side of the contactor. This arrangement is to prevent a loud compressor clunk on shutdown. It ensures the compressor and fan hots are not in parallel with the contactor open. When electrically in parallel at shutdown a freewheeling fan motor can generate back emf and drive the compressor causing the shutdown clunk.

I spent most of my time in Albany, but also Lee Country and Leesburg. Yeah, one half inch of snow in Georgia is funny to me with the reactions of the everyone from there, lol. My brother-In-Law just moved from Wisconsin to the outer Atlanta Metro area four years ago, and just this last snow you all got down there (AGAIN) SHUT DOWN THE ENTIRE CITY AND MUNICIPALITIES. In other words, is the blower fan pulling/pushing through the evaporator coil then through the heating elements?

I believe I would have edited out that stupid mistake. I always check L1 to L2, L1 to ground, and L2 to ground with my meter after killing power and before handling any wires. That would have reminded you to shut off the breaker if you would have just checked with your meter. I’ve been shocked because of a bypassed disconnect switch and ever since then I’ve always checked, even if the unit shuts off when I pull the disconnect or shut off the breaker. It takes a few seconds and can save your life.

It's working. When Curtis said it's not running he meant that the replacement contactor had fixed the problem with the previous contactor being stuck closed causing it to run continuously.

When I was making service calls many years ago, I would just tell people to give me space to work. When that didn't work, I just closed my toolbox and walked out. I don't have your patience and never did.

OK, your company name and business is Climate Control, what is your position on global climate change, do you believe in the irrefutable science or the fossil fuel companies?

If it weren’t such a hot political issue I’d answer.

Without a functioning atmosphere, Earth turns into Venus...last time I checked, no one is living on Venus. The vast majority of people have no idea how we are able to live on this planet and what had to happen to become a inhabital planet. Think about how much crap in just the last 150 years has been ejected into the atmosphere in the "modern" era compounded by a population explosion...that's alot of damage in such a short period of time, considering how old the earth is. The earth has frozen over a couple times already from meteor impacts and the debris blocked out the Sun...you disrupt the atmosphere, man made or otherwise...bad things happen! Solar radiation bombards this planet everyday and the ozone layer is all we got from getting cooked.

@HVACGUY - I understand why you won't but this should have never become political, when 97+% of the world's scientists say that all the evidence points to something being true, we used to believe it.
