Meru bhai, Congratulations to Guchi for completing this adventure safely. Now let me tell you something only the locals know about paragliding in Solang. It is farthest from safe!! Just go around villages in Solang, Palchan, Burwa, Shanag etc and ask how many local 'pilots' have died doing this, you will be shocked! The figure is about 2-3 every year. Almost Every village in and around manali has lost at least one person piloting this. So please never do this! Im still not sure why the deaths caused by paragliding accidents in solang are not out in media..

Be careful, I live near a Bir Billing Paragliding ,which was considered very first and famous Paragliding spot in Himachal and we saw quite a lot of accident due to lack of well trained local paraglider. I personally saw several accident , Falling from sky and took several tourist life as well. Due to lack of well organised training and lack of jobs for local youngster let to such accident.

Gucci bhai mana kuch kaam daredevil waale hone chahiye life me, lekin yebhi to socho mausam kaisa hai. Jab normal conditions me paragliding tough hoti hai fir aapne adverse condition (snowfall) me ye kyu karne ka socha. I mean, choose ur friends wisely, agar aapke saath ek bhi truthful friend hote he/she would not have let u do this. Trust me. It just takes a while to fall for something, and a lot of courage to say NO

Bhai i mean it's a rage and almost all of my friends have done this so it's pretty common as well and the views , the Adrenaline rush makes you want to do it....But there are safety issues..Every year there are number of accidents reported...There are safety concerns and it is not regulated ..No defined safety standards in place...It is a high risk activity...

When I went to this point 5 years ago (off season) I spoke to these guys - the ParaGliders and they said They don't have enough hours in a day during the season. They were charging ₹2000 for a 2 minute ride then. They told me they did between 25-35 rides an hour. Assuming they did 30 rides an hour, that was ₹60,000 an HOUR. All in cash - TAX FREE. Even the laziest paraglider was making ₹2 Lakh a day.
