Thank you again... You were there when Fred's family needed you to build this new ecosystem at Kamp Kenan. With 60% of the space devoted to land, the remaining 40% of the area that is the water had to carry ALL waste material that would be generated by the Caiman. Once again, your "Aquascape" bioengineering came through. So looking forward to the introduction of these crocodilians so that we can learn about their unique place in the Planet's ecosystems. Kenan says they are active at night... should make for some amazing videos !!!

You said you usually apply concrete fabric at the bottom to prevent burrowing creatures from tearing through the linings. If you want to give the animal the ability to burrow, how would you do that? Would you add soft soil or sand at the bottom? For full disclosure, I live in an apartment building; therefore, I don't have a backyard for a pond and don't have a specific example to give, but I love learning about this.
@EdThePondProfessor2 жыл бұрын
Great question!!! I would add specific areas for burrowing, typically deep sand or very small diameter gravel(1/4” or less) I don’t use too much soil for burrowing because it can cause water quality issues if it’s routinely disturbed.

Could you imagine being stuck in the woods at night as if that wouldn't be scary enough you have little 5 to 6 foot dinosaurs walking around ....lol oh I love the wild and south American rain forest in particular.... yall did a great job this is my favorite pond build at Kenans .... the pools and falls with the illusion in the middle it's super cool and unique!!! It really is different from most aquascape builds from the design standpoint at least.

I realize I have very little patience... In the sense that I'd rather watch an hour long video where I can see the entire process to completion, than waiting for the follow up videos to be released 😳. Just eager I guess. Appreciate the sketch and the inclusion of the measurements. Sometimes it's hard to really picture how large some of these systems are.. Or the actual layout. Especially after a year or two when the landscape is developed...
