Looking at the marks on the road, I don't believe the ~400 km/h claim. That's a speedo malfunction. 360 Km/h is 100m/s, those lane seperator marks are 5 meters long. At over 100m/s you should only see a blur of them. There are bikes that do go this fast, but I doubt that one did.

Head and front legs went one way, ass and rear legs the other, and the middle basically disintegrated. Dad stayed upright, came home with a bent wheel, and blood and fur head to toe.

Difference is, in my observation today there's a far higher proportion of stupidly immature combined with inflated ego and the kit to carry both of those to serious consequence. Survived riding everything from dirt 175s urban and offroad to large capacity and pocket rocket roadies 50 years now. Just lucky to have that combination wisdom and a modicum of (gift from God) natural ability combined with sufficient luck to survive long enough to develop skill with experience aided and abetted with the privilege to pursue and to attend numerous skill development courses back when they weren't a readily available thing or an ego stamp to chat about in the fully Dainese dressed 'cafe race meet''. Watching this stupidity just makes me love Darwin more left wondering how many of these heroes have been eliminated in the interim? The -village idiot- rider at 1:40 for instance. Markus, l have got up to 250klm on the autobahn with my wife pillion. One can only manage this with little wind, dry, good road and very minimum traffic.
