Dangerous Situation At Huge Uluwatu

The biggest swell of the year hit Bali yesterday, and we captured a pretty scary moment on one of the largest sets of the afternoon. After an attempted rescue the ski driver was inches from disaster, but just managed to outrun the white-water, albeit minus the passenger. Luckily the surfer didn't appear to be in serious trouble and was finally rescued after the end of the set.
The waves were firing all day, with many chargers taking on The Bombie, and Outside Corner later in the afternoon. When I was there you started paddling out near padang padang....it was a long ass paddle.....idk if it's changed, being reef I would doubt it......was similar to big G-Land on high tide....

That place looks like no matter how you duck dive it , you get sucked far down the reef and if it’s not the set wave , you take the next one on the head in a rip that is relentless to paddle through 🤙🏽

Was there on a huge day.....2 days in a .onth I didn't surf cuz it was too big for me, was bout 4 times overhead maybe hair bigger every hour or so......I didn't know where to sit only 2 guys out and really I just wasn't prepared for anything like that....ulu is a massive arena...so much water and point goes up to temples.....if you don't know the spot well you can get in a serious situation......have no issue sitting out when it's past my pay grade, lol

Ya hard to judge waves this big esp on a off swell. Ive been in hurricane sized waves.... very hard to stay in position. Waves all over the place. 20 ft faces at a beach break HB California
