Harvest came to a sudden halt once Shane got a notice of a massive wildfire in the area. Volunteer crew, including other farmers, franticly plow fire lines to try and prevent further spread of a rapidly-evolving disaster.
Huge thanks to the BLM, DNRC, and other crews who continue to contain this wildfire.

Hi All, We want to clarify that this particular fire has mostly affected our neighbors' and public land. We were simply there with the rest of the community to help out. Fortunately, the fire did minimal damage to crops and no damage to structures. However, many acres of land were still affected and it could be a long time before the active hotspots are completely put out.

I am a volunteer fire fighter in Southwest Colorado. I've seen the exact same situation with fire, wheat fields and farmsteads here. Seen every farmer in the area drop everything and run to help save a neighbors crop, homes equipment and lives. Its amazing how people can work so hard together in those tense unpredictable situations. Im glad everyone and everything turned out ok in the end for you guys. God bless the Fire Fighters, Farmers and the USA 🇺🇸

Nothing better than farmers getting it done! A blessing to have that heavy ag equipment on hand! I've spent many seasons hiking with my crew and the fire cats. Your rigs are a little more industrial than a D6 or a D8!

It was awesome to see you all get some help from bureau of land management.....you had defendable space and fire fighting equipment and that goes to show that authority will help out when people use their smarts and try to protect their own, whether it be cutting trees back or keeping water on the buildings.

On our old Family Dairy Farm back north (now farm tiny in Kentucky Holler) we had a CIH STX 325 + 30 foot Krause disc harrow. You must have tractor that pulls 45 foot. Make a big fire lane in short order with big equipment.

So glad the fire was contained. I was raised on a farm east of Brady Montana. We were very fortunate, that we never had any fires on our farm. Just a FYI, the music you play on your videos drowns out your talking part. Would be nice with NO music! Thanks again for your time!!

Heck I feel for you guys over there I know what wildfires/bushfires can do just at the end of last year and into the start of this year we had one of the worst bushfire seasons in along time half of Australia was burning right along the east coast of Queensland and all the way down through New South Wales and Victoria I hope it’s under control now thoughts and prayers are with all of you

We are on West Oregon, north end of the Willamette valley. When it was still all farm ground and not city folk with houses in the trees... We had some pretty big fires. Best wildland fire fighters are farmers and loggers!!! Sadly, it's all paid boys now.. from the city. They have no clue of the resorces that are still here.. The last few years have been very dry!! Mostly 3 digit temps when combines are running.. the offset disc has literally been right behind the combine.. as there are way too many multi million dollar hoses around our fields. BTW, my wife has made a few trips to Montana, she says we are going to move the opporation there some day.. Be safe! Have a great harvest!!

2018 we had a barn fire that destroyed the oldest barn (2 story) on our Family Dairy Farm back north and almost all of our dry hay (most forages were haylage and corn silage) and it caught another buildingon fire and destroyed it as well. There was a fire hydrant 1/4 mile away and it had no water. The old timers used to tank water from a creek to portable ponds, but new guys only experience hooking to hydrant. Fire is very scary. The economic reality of Dairy Farming since 2014 ended coupled with the fire convinced us to sell in 2019. We love our tiny Kentucky Holler now.

@@tomcleverley18 that sucks!! I've fought many barn fires over the years, saved the paid boys a lot of embarrassment!! Hydrant hookers don't know their engines will draft out of a creek or ditch. Even now days, they have no clue😪 to make it worse, vollenteer departments don't know how anymore.... It's been 22 years since I have danced with fire, but I guarantee I can still pull water 20' up out of a creek blindfolded. Most important thing is that you came out of it safely and are happy where you are now!!!!

@@GosselinFarmsEdGosselin, we used to have +1100 total / +800 tillable acres in Upstate NY to +85 / 18 acres where we are now at our tiny farm. A lot less stressful, we are still in the country, and we still watch things grow, just it is vegetables, and at least presently nothing with 4 hooves.

@@tomcleverley18 the thought has crossed my mind before.. We were 1500+ leased crop ground, 60+ pasture/hay ground.. Development took all of the 1500+, forced to the smaller fields in the hills, currently around 400+ acres. Smaller fields cost a lot more to make a living on, but that's what we have now. Wife says we are moving to Montana at some point, we've both lived in Oregon for a few generations.. costs too much to farm here, costs too much to move the opporation... 🙄

@@GosselinFarmsEdGosselin , is the current unrest in cities likely to drive more city dwellers to where you currently farm? If so, then you might want to take time at end of harvest, or bad weather days to talk about and check options.

Hi from Australia.. Fire and crops are enough to get the heart pumping... Glad to see guys scraped through ok... MacDon heads are ok when there new, after they've done a few hectares. They pretty much need a lot of preventive maintenance to keep them running. Stay safe...

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Romans 10:9-10. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. 1John 5: 10-13 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. .............................................
