And they are happy when they have what they can hope for and need in the situation they are in. A co-worker born and raised in Cameroon explained this to me, that even a pig in the bush wants the best it can get. Africans aren't per se satisfied with muddy drinking water, they are "happy" that they're getting the best they can get..
