A mining rod for the skeletons is called a ballista. Very useful, especially when monsters explode on death. Edit: for the bell puzzle, you have to listen to the sounds, for me the bell order was right(highest pitch), middle, left(lowest pitch).

Nah I feel the game is super optimized, I had at least 3 mining rods on each island (because I can) running at all times with a whole bunch of furnaces pretty much nonstop smelting, I don't even know how many furnaces, about like 50? Regardless, even with everything going on, my pc never even stuttered, which is pretty good!

If you do storage boxes, the items you gather in the normal map (not dungeons) will go to the storage boxes when gathered if you already have any of it inside or if you are with the inventory full. A couple of them helps to keep the inventory clean :)

And even with that you are way, way slower than stacking lighthouses and digging. :D What I do is place 2 rows of lighthouses, a few fishtraps, at the top 2 quarrys, 4 shrines, then just get the double drop buff the movespeed buff and go ham. When you did it right you can get 2048 of the items you dig up. And that includes, gems, thread, leather, plastic and the normal stuff ores, coal and sand. I also did it on the boarder of the bioms and placed a few fishtraps in each one. You can get all bioms with 2 setups like that. Pretty neat.

Small info to gain Skeleton Skulls: Since you have the infinte charge for the Wand´s. Search for a small Island (i think you got a good one in the desert with the shield on it) clear all wooden platforms around it and spam the Necrotic Wand on it to spawn small and with a chance bigger skeletons. The Relic and the general explosion that will appear when you kill an enemy clears them out pretty good and you don't have to worry about Skeleton skulls :)

In my play through, the magic sceptre was one of the most powerful items. Just spawn 5800 skeletons on an isolated bridge using the necro rod and slay them all at the same time for lots of herbs and energy

Get all the magic rods. They are great and useful. The necro rod can be used to spawn large skeletons, kill them next to a bunch a lighthouses and you get like 20 big skulls a piece
