A few pieces of advice. Put slime sealant in all of your tubes for the tires to help prevent leaks. Also, get stronger tubes. The regular ones are not used to taking that much weight. Your rear wheelbase also needs to be widened for more stability. Lastly, add thin flexible solar panels to the roof and other available places. That way the battery can still get a charge while you're in motion. Then you could take it on a longer road trip. In fact, what if you built another one and dual road tripped them? That would make for an interesting video, or maybe a miniseries.

all of this, a spare tire on the back, as well as maybe an adjustable slide/lock mechanism for the width of the rear tire base you suggested, so they can retract for a tighter fit and extend for stability when there’s more space. An adjustable bar feature for the wheelbase would also double for stability while parked, so it can’t be blown or pushed over by a bear, or even scarier, a human.

@@Clarissa1986 That is only if you use a lot of it. Even the innertubes that come with slime already inside of them have a conservative amount. I've used slime sealant on bike tire innertubes for years. And I only ever put just enough in a tube to stop tiny leaks. It can prevent pinhole leaks just as they start. Granted slime does get old. But it's not gonna age any worse than the tubes on a well used bike, which have to be replaced every few years, if not sooner. I've heard of other people using way too much slime though. Like squirting half or a whole bottle into one bike tire. That's just idiotic. You can easily save an innertube with minimal effort by identifying the pinhole leak, squirting a little bit of super glue into it the hole, and then putting a bit of slime into the tube. It will bond to the spot plugged with glue from the inside, and stops the leak. I've had used innertubes last for years doing this. The results speak for themselves.

You should build one with a tandem bike on the front. Then you can share the pedaling and truly be able to hang out together during the ride. Also maybe add a couple of solar panels on the roof and a solar controller to help recharge the battery. Also maybe widen the axle and add fender flares. That will help greatly with stability. Probably would be wise to go with motorcycle grade tires on the rear. The bike tires seem to not hold up well.

Many Religions that we know nowadays, at their beginning were true and under Islam, initiated by one of the prophets of God, but their original teachings, history and scriptures have been corrupted over time with falsification and polytheism, or lost and replaced with false ones. That's why Islam is the only Religion accepted by God nowadays, which consists in bearing witness that there is no god besides Allah (God in Aramaic, the original language of Jesus and the Gospel), and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger, just like Jesus and Moses and others are His servants and messengers. Never a messenger of God said he was God or literally son of God, it was the people after him who changed the words of God and corrupted the Religion. God is unique and absolute, He does not need to have a family and sons or to associate anyone else with His kingdom, He can simply create whatever He wants, everything belongs to Him, and to Him everything will return. Allah said in Surah Al-Mu’minun : “God has never begotten a son, nor is there any god besides Him. Otherwise, each god would have taken away what it has created, and some of them would have gained supremacy over others. Glory be to God, far beyond what they describe. Allah means the one and only God, the God of all prophets and creatures, the creator of the universe and mankind, and the Master of the Day of judgment, where our destiny, Hell or Paradise, is decided based on our faith and deeds in this trial life, and above all, Allah's mercy. I've watched a couple of times, and just 3 recommendations. 1. Lower the bottom of the overhang as you need about 6 - 6½ feet (1.8 - 2.0m) from the ground to the overhang. This will be more confortable for sleeping as well. 2. I would fashion an internal trunk for the generator and spare battery 3. I would put a shelf around the internal perimeter for rigidity and ease of bed install.

Walmart has solid foam inner tubes in the bicycle section. Get some of those. The down side is slightly harder pedaling, but you're electric, so no worries!

For future reference, you should put electric tape around the inner rim of your wheel (where the inner tube rests against the spokes). Having that much weight on your tires and going over rough terrain causes the spokes to push into the tube popping it. A couple layers of electrical tape adds extra layers of protection. The spokes are NOT moving inside the tyre when tensioned correctly. But you absolutely need some rim tape nevertheless. You mostly "drill" a hole when turning the spoke nipples to straighten a wheel.

I enjoyed watching the video. Plus...I learned there was a hurricane, of sorts, last August. I had no idea. 😄 I do not know if these will work for sure, but...😁 Idea #1 - Some folks mentioned the idea of a pop-up. Having the tent style pop-up with two separate beds, folding out, running length-wise with support poles on the two outside corners for each bed. Idea #2 - Instead of a pop-up, there could be a pop out on the back side. You could install a fold out panel with a complete tent attached. It too would need supports, they could be fold outs. The 'tent' could have two levels for separate sleeping. (There are existing tents with 2 levels.) It could have additional anchor points for the top level on the camper itself. A fold down could have two windows for each level. Having one like this would also provide for a shorter camper as well. It could be 6.5'-7' (I don't know how tall you are) as opposed to the one that you have now. You'd have to lose that little couch & have a couple of cushions to sit on. It's a small concession for having separate sleeping areas. With this the front top of the camper could be curved for better aerodynamics. Each one of has it's own opportunities for discovering the best ways to create them. I hope I at least gave you something to think about. 👍🏻 ✌🏻

Might have been a good idea to build the frame of the camper shell out of thin wall steel tubing instead of wood. It would cut the weight down and less of a strain on the electric motor. I also agree with some of the other comments on putting solar panels on the roof to help recharge the battery...

100% agree. A combination of a light steel frame, foam panels and fiberglass would have been stronger and much lighter. It also felt unnecessarily tall, increasing wind resistance. I’d have made the front longer and would have given the back a rounded shape to have a very large surface for solar panels. I think it would be possible to install up to 400watts worth of solar panels that way which should be enough to keep the battery full all the time. Flexible solar panels weight much less than the generator so that’s one more win. A longer front would also provide more shade.

Great idea, version 2 is better than version 1, as it should be. Version 3 should have two peddlers (a tandem electric bike) that has a mini hitch that connects the bike camper. This will solve your problem if your bike camper tire gets a flat because you can disconnect the bike camper from the tandem bike to get supplies. The tandem bike should be independent of the bike camper. Not a sermon, just a thought. Great job guys!

Besides the width for stability, I would suggest, creating it a little longer, this way there can be two single beds, one up top the other down below that gets folded back up to a couch/chair

Hey guys I had a thought, and that was to extend the camper part of your bike by adding a extra set of tires behind your rear tires and extending your camper by 4 feet and you can also lighten your load by using foam board on your outer shell.

You could consider: using a pop-up or slide-up roof to lower the center of mass, using dual tires (sides and front), using a lower driver's seat to lower the forehead bed, and moving the battery to the front (under/around the driver's seat).

This was a wonderful episode and I'm sorry that I didn't see it 4 months ago when it was first published. Now that you've completed the 2nd Bike it's time that you build a third one. Make it slightly longer, adapt the bedding area for your heads or build it to change couch positions like in boats and last but most importantly build the bike to be a tandem so both of you can pedal at the same time.

I have a suggestion for your next one, make it shorter, half the size, and half the weight, so you don't have so much wind drag, only make it so 1 half, extends over the other, it can side up and extend height, or slide down, over the bottom half for travel, and be half the height. Because as it is right now that thing dynamically is like a wind sail.

That thing is *screaming* for motorcycle tires, replacing or fixing flats constantly feels like is going to eventually get you in trouble. Other than that, the camper's great! Maybe turn the roof into a pop-up roof to give you more space when sleeping and low enough height to clear that bridge easier

When patching a tire...you need to scuff up innertube...put rubber cement on patch and innertube...let completely dry before putting patch on. Also make sure to semi inflate innertube. Rub on top of patch. Then you will have done it correctly and it should hold air.

You could probably build and sale these like hot cakes, I believe the tire issue is due to the weight of the camper, so going with a motorcycle wheel setup would be more durable and adding some type of regeneration to the unit to gain a little power back like newer EV bikes do.

Islam was the original Religion descended to earth from heaven with Adam and Eve (peace and blessing be upon them) in the beginning of humanity. and was passed to people with the succession of the 124 000 prophets and 315 messengers of God to all nations and civilizations since, passing by Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Ismaël, Joseph, Moses, Aaron, Joshua, David, Solomon and Jesus (Peace and blessing be upon them) during the history of mankind, the last replaces and completes the previous, until the succession of the last messenger of God fourteen centuries ago, Muhammad (Peace and blessing be upon him) to complete the noble morals of all mankind, to bring humans and jinns out of darkness into light, and to purify people's religion and belief from corruption and polytheism, and return it to purity and true monotheism, like it was in the times of the prophets (Peace and blessing be upon them). Many Religions that we know nowadays, at their beginning were true and under Islam, initiated by one of the prophets of God, but their original teachings, history and scriptures have been corrupted over time with falsification and polytheism, or lost and replaced with false ones. That's why Islam is the only Religion accepted by God nowadays, which consists in bearing witness that there is no god besides Allah (God in Aramaic, the original language of Jesus and the Gospel), and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger, just like Jesus and Moses and others are His servants and messengers. Never a messenger of God said he was God or literally son of God, it was the people after him who changed the words of God and corrupted the Religion. God is unique and absolute, He does not need to have a family and sons or to associate anyone else with His kingdom, He can simply create whatever He wants, everything belongs to Him, and to Him everything will return. Allah said in Surah Al-Mu’minun : “God has never begotten a son, nor is there any god besides Him. Otherwise, each god would have taken away what it has created, and some of them would have gained supremacy over others. Glory be to God, far beyond what they describe. The Knower of the hidden and the manifest. He is exalted, far above what they associate. (91-92 / Translated by ITANI). Allah means the one and only God, the God of all prophets and creatures, the creator of the universe and mankind, and the Master of the Day of judgment, where our destiny, Hell or Paradise, is decided based on our faith and deeds in this trial life, and above all, Allah's mercy. Allah said in Surah Al-Ikhlas : In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful. Say, “He is God, the One. God, the Absolute. He begets not, nor was He begotten. And there is none comparable to Him.” (1-4 / Translated by ITANI). Allah said in Surah An-Nisa : O FOLLOWERS of the Gospel! Do not overstep the bounds [of truth] in your religious beliefs, and do not say of God anything but the truth. The Christ Jesus, son of Mary, was but God's Apostle - [the fulfilment of] His promise which He had conveyed unto Mary - and a soul created by Him. Believe, then, in God and His apostles, and do not say, "[God is] a trinity". Desist [from this assertion] for your own good. God is but One God; utterly remote is He, in His glory, from having a son: unto Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth; and none is as worthy of trust as God. Never did the Christ feel too proud to be God's servant, nor do the angels who are near unto Him. And those who feel too proud to serve Him and glory in their arrogance [should know that on Judgment Day] He will gather them all unto Himself: (171-172 / Translated by Muhammad Asad). Allah the Most Merciful said in Surah Ali-Imran : Behold, the only [true] religion in the sight of God is [man's] self-surrender unto Him; and those who were vouchsafed revelation aforetime took, out of mutual jealousy, to divergent views [on this point] only after knowledge [thereof] had come unto them. But as for him who denies the truth of God's messages - behold, God is swift in reckoning! Thus, [O Prophet,] if they argue with thee, say, "I have surrendered my whole being unto God, and [so have] all who follow me!" - and ask those who have been vouchsafed revelation aforetime, as well as all unlettered people, "Have you [too] surrendered yourselves unto Him?" And if they surrender themselves unto Him, they are on the right path; but if they turn away - behold, thy duty is no more than to deliver the message: for God sees all that is in [the hearts of] His creatures. Verily, as for those who deny the truth of God's messages, and slay the prophets against all right, and slay people who enjoin equity - announce unto them a grievous chastisement. It is they whose works shall come to nought both in this world and in the life to come; and they shall have none to succour them. (19-22 / Translated by Muhammad Asad).. God said : Say, “We believe in Allah, and in what was revealed to us, and in what was revealed to Abraham, and Ishmael, and Isaac, and Jacob, and the Patriarchs, and in what was given to Moses and Jesus, and in what was given to the prophets from their Lord. Haha love it, V3 should be twice as long not twice as high, it should have 4 tires instead of 3 because the weigh can't be properly displaced, it should also be lower to the ground & maybe a dual pedal system to make it easier with a popup top, wouldn't hurt to use some really wide low profile tires to help with the weight.

I've been building gas-powered bikes and had run into some of the same problems as you guys with getting flats. Then I found the solution. I had a tire split open, and what I'm about to tell you got me home. Go to a local junkyard and get the seat belts out of an old van or truck and line the inside of your tires with them, then put your tube in. Ever try stabbing a seatbelt? It doesn't puncture easily at all. Good luck to you, boys.

This is a really cool project build but it is ridiculously top heavy. Trikes with one wheel in front are notorious for tipping with just a rider. Might ha been a better idea to make it a pop up to avoid clearance/stability issues.

This invention is not bad, I would have added a powerful mid- drive motor, combined with two powerful rear hub motors that are controlled by throttled-power which would be made with (dully style -rims), I would also add a dul-rim ( front wheel drive), all hooked on the same throttle line (accept for mid-drive motor, not included in throttle line system). I would also add 100% puncture proof wide tyres with ( tubes designed, made to not go flat), to eliminate flat tyre issues. I would put heavy duty, extra wide rim in front. I would also add a solar systems just to make it more convenient for charging phones, batteries, light at night, and so on.
