As pointers for specific stats: -Skill gives you the most bang for your buck. Fast weapons fit better into Bloodborne combat and the visceral damage boost is huge. If you're not a soulsbourne vet, this is a good first focused build. -Strength is superior for seasoned players. You lose out on the boost to visceral damage, but with strength scaling gems even skill scaling weapons can compete. Better overall variety in play. -Bloodtinge, one of the hardest builds to make. You won't get a decent weapon til well past halfway through the game. But once you get there you'll breeze through the rest of the game. -Arcane, where Bloodtinge has a challenging early-mid game, arcane has a challenging endgame. You can't get high tier elemental gems until the very last area of the dlc or deep into the chalice dungeons. But the access to hunter tools and the ability to convert weapons to multiple damage types makes this kind of build fantastic
@VVabsa4 жыл бұрын
Can I add that arcane is the only stat that stays usefull beyond all softcaps. 99 arcane is pretty challenging due to the fact the most powerful tools are late game and dlc, combined with the low hp you have due the build. Yet most tools and molotovs scale with arcane so with the right runes you obliterate everything in pve. That and the oil urn + flamethrower+ bone ash is something
@einohandel4 жыл бұрын
To add to this, note that you can get the BLT sword and the ARC/STR Wheel quite early by using false depth chalices.

As one of the decent players of the game, this build is pretty solid for getting through Bloodborne as it does branch into different builds that you want to use. Want STR/ARC Quality and vice versa? Go ahead. There's many different options you can take if you follow this guide. If part 2 of this does come out, go and watch it. JM has a lot of experience when it comes to build-making. If you are reading this, hope you are having a good day (besides the virus panic going on and all.) I may not be a good pvper, but that's okay. You just need to practice. Practice reading the pattern your opponent has. Predict what they're about to do and punish them if they guess incorrectly.

The way i have always treated games from soft and others with a similar base structure is that Stats=you are gonna have an easier time But everything can be overcome with what everyone likes to call "getting good" Everything beyond that simply makes it Abit easier Stats matter quite alot but take more of a secondary role compared to other games As long as they are roughly adequate for the part of the game you are at Then u rarely need more and just grinding for a few extra stats for hours is way less valuable or effective overall than practicing a boss or trying to get past an area you are stuck on

I want to clarify for those viewers out there who see this comment; Scorched isn't wrong. If you want a jumpstart into Arcane and will not be using Bloodtinge whatsoever, the Cruel Fate Origin is the best possible start for that. Essentially it comes down to: - Invest in vitality, especially in the early to mid game - Ignore endurance - Ignore bloodtinge unless you're making a bloodtinge build - Check the weapon scaling of the weapons you want to use and level your stats accordingly First soft cap is almost always 25, second one is 50. After each soft cap you get less in return for investing in that stat, so leveling a stat above 50 is not usually recommended. (Arcane is the exception, the damage scales well with hunter tools all the way to 99 arcane) And last but not least, unless you're making a pure arcane build don't use blood gems on your weapons that affect elemental damage (fire/bolt/arcane). Using a gem like that removes the physical damage from your weapon and makes the weapon scale only with the arcane stat. This is very detrimental to not-arcane builds. That's pretty much how you make a bloodborne build. It's much easier to do than it sounds. Also, don't upgrade your gun all the way unless you're on a bloodtinge build. Upgrading it barely affects the damage and doesn't affect parry timing. I usually upgrade my pistol just to the point where I can add a bloodgem and plug in a gem that slowly regens my health. If you have questions regarding something, don't be afraid to ask. If it's something specific it's often easier to ask than it is to search all over the internet.

However, Bloodborne is pure love (bloody love :D )

As someone who has sunk in well over 2000 hours into Bloodborne and played through the game with every possible build and weapon more times than any rational person should, here are the tweaks I would personally make to your beginner's build. First off, you shouldn't be going for a quality build as a beginner unless you're using the saw cleaver, saw spear, or ludwig's. If you aren't using one of the few quality build weapons in the game, a beginner would be gimping themselves by leveling a stat that their weapon isn't scaling off. Also, there really isn't any point in leveling up strength and skill simultaneously for the purpose of weapon variety, since on your first playthrough, you're only going to be able to upgrade maybe 3 weapons max, and that's if you scour around every area picking up every blood shard drop, which most people won't do on their first playthrough. So as a beginner in Bloodborne, you should end up picking between strength or skill. There is plenty of weapon variety to be had when you level up only strength or skill, and you can still end up upgrading a couple weapons throughout your first playthrough, and you won't end up wasting tons of levels into 2 damage stats if you aren't using a quality weapon like the cleaver/spear or ludwig's. Secondly, you hit the nail on the head with not really needing to invest many or any levels into stamina, since in BB, you don't really exert a lot of stamina when swinging most weapons, dodging, etc., and the metamorphosis runes give a nice hefty % boost to your hp and stam. However, there are some weapons that want you to invest a few extra levels into stamina to be able to manage more than 2-3 swings with them (I'm mostly talking about weapons like lud's, whirligig, kirkhammer, etc). So basically stamina is usually fine left around 10-15 for most weapons, but there are a few weapons that could definitely benefit from 20-25 endurance. And lastly, you absolutely are correct about vit being very important for players on their first playthroughs, but I'd say for the most part, getting to 25-30 vitality should be enough hp for most players on their first playthrough in the base game (The dlc is a different story though, going up to around 40 vit in the dlc is a solid move for sure). I think that's pretty much all of the criticisms I have for your build, but keep in mind, my comment is just that. Constructive criticisms. I'm not trying to invalidate your advice or say your recommended build is trash or anything like that, just trying give some insight of my own, since I've played this damn game way too god damn much that I feel like I have a pretty good understanding of what should be leveled up, and in what order (hp rush to 25, then get stam up a few levels if your weapon needs it, then just go balls deep into your damage stat all the way to 50. Trust me, more damage is more valuable than a bit more hp in your first playthrough). Anyways, still great vid jm! It's beautiful to still see good Bloodborne content being made these days. Much love!

I've grown to prefer 50 vit as my standard for pvp and co-op purposes. I've fought/helped other players who had less hp than me, while they're the host, often resulting in their early death. (Especially in cursed chalices) Nowadays I'd shudder at the thought of playing a Bl120 build with less than 40 vit. It really helps if you can survive just one hit more than you, would otherwise.

I’m bl 207 and couldn’t be happier with the build, I don’t pvp so I do what I want with my stats

I recently went pure vit just to see what it would be like. A beginner build maxing out completely on and vit and vigor is ridiculously easy. I can't believe it

New to your channel and I've been binging your videos for the past few days. I would like you to consider including the Wolf Knight's Greatsword into your Underrated Weapon series. In my personal opinion, this weapon is underrated in fact you did fail to mention the Wolf Knight's Greatsword in your Flamberge video when you were talking the weapons with the same weapon art stance. Yes, the Wolf Knight's Greatsword doesn't have the same weapon art move set as the others but it does have the same stance as the Flamberge, like the Claymore and, so forth. All in all, I do hope you at least take a look at the weapon and have a great day.

Problem of Wolf Knight is it has a way superior replacement. Which is Gael's GS. WAR1 is actually decent but WAR2 isn't besides rollcatch. Also it doesn't have poke r2s like Gael or Claymore too. How you build them is different too. Wolf Knight is a dex favor quality weapon whereas Gael is a strength favor quality weapon. Stance WA is great for escaping true combos but don't see many uses besides that.

@@merttuncer1788 Which makes it perfect for getting a spot as an underrated weapon. So your point? All you did is proven my point. Oh, and the Wolf Knight's Greatsword does have an R2 thrust, try one handing it. It is a very good move with great tracking.
@merttuncer17884 жыл бұрын
@@randallflagg1180 1handed greatsword moveset is nearly worthless. Best strength of a greatsword is it's poise. 1handed moveset doesn't have any poise. Mixing up is important but not safe even when used without poise. It's not even a trade. Also since it's shorter than longer greatswords it lacks pressure too. Tracking isn't as important since unlocked playstyle is way more important than rollcatch tracking.

Just saw your last video commented on that one and needed to also comment on this one because this video is so so helpful. Thank you!

As a non magic person I only have one thing to say(not to offend arcane builds) screw arcane ima stick to my big boi sword
@SunlessSage3 жыл бұрын
If you keep using your big boi sword, there's absolutely no need to invest any point in arcane. I do however encourage you to try an arcane or bloodtinge build at some point, they do offer a lot of fun.
