For people wondering where the key was in the troll level, I used the level viewer. Short story: The key is pretty pointless and wouldn't save any time. You still have to go through the worst parts of the level to get it. Honestly, I think Dave played that as straight as you could. Hitting the on/off the way he did is certainly a preferred path to get across that bridge of red blocks with the playstation wizards. Alternatively, there was a green pipe under the one block high area with a p-switch right under the giant spear and all the flames shooting up. Seems like way too much trouble to get in there though. And once you're in there, you need to make sure you have a shell or spring with you to get over the a tall ledge. Deal with same hammer bros, then get to that blue snakeblock. Once on the blue snakeblock, you have two options: 1. Ride it like Dave did to the blue pipe for victory. 2. The snakeblock goes up a few blocks. Right a few blocks. Up a few blocks, then left for 12 blocks. Above that is a ceiling of hidden coin blocks. Dave found a few of them consecutively as he passed by underneath them later. On the 7th block to the left of that stretch, there's a hidden key block. Cruelly, it's nested between two hidden fish blocks. So assuming you get the right key block, you can hop off snakeblock by that checkpoint he avoided, go in the pipe on the ground there, which takes you back to the very beginning for the key door. Why go through all that? I mean, you already have to ride the snakeblock such a long way, may as well ride it a little bit longer, lol... Additionally: I currently forget how respawning enemies works, but I feel like it's a real danger that you could key death there as well since you'll be spawning in the middle of a turtle and moles. So taking the key route probably puts you in danger of getting killed again, whereas riding to blue pipe is instant win. World record strat is PROBABLY to keep that spring from the beginning and do the mid-air drop to the goal as he mentioned after getting that checkpoint and seeing how close he was on the yolo.

Already had one comment, have to make another after seeing the "for my wife" level, haha... My wife doesn't play Mario Maker 2. She's played a little Mario in her past, but she would very much be considered a beginner. That doesn't stop her though from wanting to make levels from time to time. Most of them have been pretty tough. Not really being familiar with Mario though, they aren't going to be tough in the traditional sense, lol... I end up being the one to beat them so they can be uploaded. She'll see me play and then decide if I made something look too easy before changing it up. She has one from April 2020 that remains uncleared. I'm guessing it got some early boos and has since been buried, haha. But every time I fire the game up, I keep expecting to see a notification that someone's beaten it. Not yet though.
