I've graduated Criminology years ago. But Personal Identification was really hard for me. Maybe bec my Prof then was too old that he's too boring when he teaches. But he's absolutely brilliant if only I focused on his lectures. Okay. Maybe, it really was my fault thats why I find the subject hard. Anyway, can you teach on how to ridge count and ridge tracing?? On how to choose the point where to start the counting and pattern area ? Thank you. I just want to refresh my memory on this.

What to analyze for wear and tear of fingerprint?

When a fingerprint pattern absolutely cannot be determined it is arbitrarily given a plain meeting whorl pattern designation. For example, if someone had lost an entire hand and, thus, no fingerprints, the five missing digits of that hand would all be classified as plain meeting whorls. If only one finger was missing and, thus, no pattern, then that one digit would be classified as a plain meeting whorl.
