Naughty & Nice - Funny Bengal cats constantly causing trouble!

I have a 6 month old Cross Bengal, who also gets up to mischief just like yours. I've also had many ordinary everyday cats. But my Apollo (Cross Bengal) is completely wild compared to my others. I was hoping as he's Cross, that may calm him down, but no, he's a pest... Love yours, they are gorgeous Bengals.. I'm in the UK to & my Apollo is going to be a housecat..

I think we were lucky with our two brown girls to be honest! Rocket our Snow less so as he did get into lots of trouble haha. Things have simmered later in life (but not the volume!). Interesting that Apollo appears to have ignored any subtle domestic cat genes and embraced the Bengal side instead! It might be quite some time before he settles down, be prepared :)

Covid is causing lots of disruption but our kitties really seem to like us being around more and with such great weather (in the UK at least!) they have been outside more than ever before (in our garden at least). Good point though, with light summer mornings I probably should be taking them somewhere fun to wander around at 4am :)

Three Bengals? I have trouble handling one, she is so demanding at times, but I love her so & she me. I have always had cats, but a Bengal is a totally different experience.

I never said it was easy hehe. We actually only have two in the house now as Rocket is living with my step-parents following tension in the house (after a number of stress-free years!) but yes you are right, they can be a handful. I also love them to bits and wouldn't have it any other way! I've not owned a huge amount of cats so while I'm sure many other breeds can be just as interesting or loving, Bengals do indeed seem to be in a different league!

We're almost sure Rocket has started changing his greetings now. He seems to be emulating the hello's he gets from my partners parents. It's subtle but I hadn't seen him for a while and I noticed it :)

Ours have strange fascinations with toys - Sushi loves the 1m long green cord that was part of my daughters swimsuit. She now carries that around in her mouth to various parts of the house and shouts about it! They quite like fluffy little mice with catnip in, and feathers on the end of wands. Other things they ignore.. there are various discarded cat toys dotted around now!

I had two lovely Bengals. One died last year. Kidney failure but I was with him to the end. The other is a female version of Rocket. Sapphire eyes, hence her name. Bengals are wonderful cats but need lots of love and attention every day

So sorry to hear about your male Bengal. How old was he? I worry about things like this, I love them to bits and I'm really close to Pixel. I catch myself thinking about it sometimes and it is upsetting, but she is only 8 so I should probably stop that! They're not happy with me today because I'm trying to encourage them to eat some different wet food and they're not having any of it, despite me mixing it in!

@@HotRocketBengalCats Hi, try not to worry about Pixel. I've heard that Bengals can live a long and happy life, especially if you're looking after them so well, which you obviously are doing . Sahara died at 12 but they can live longer. God bless you all and your little feline superstars!!

@@HotRocketBengalCats by the way Sapphire is now 13, going on 3 !! She's a snow Bengal like Rocket, with marble markings. Even at 13 she's jumping, climbing etc and is extremely demanding of love and attention!! She was rehomed a while ago as she was missing Sahara. I made specific requirements to ensure she has a suitable and loving new home.

13 is a great age, as was 12 really. That makes me feel a little less worried, I know I shouldn't fret about it. A friend of my partner recently told me she doesn't understand why anyone can get upset about an animal, like what does it matter... bizarre. How can you feel close attachment to a daughter but feel nothing for an animal? Ours are part of the family and always have been! Anyway, similar to you, Rocket has been rehomed as our two girls ended up not getting on with him here after a good few years. It led to a lot of stress and unhappiness for everyone. Fortunately my partners parents always really liked Rocket and they have a quiet house in the country so we let him have a trial period with them and now he gets to explore outside. Everyone is happier as a result but I do miss him a bit despite being able to visit any time. We tried for so long but it was madness in the end, I was literally dealing with several urination incidents every day. Another friend told me a lady she knows has 13 cats and they all get on well!

Hehe best not talk about the neighbours cats Jake! Pixel is ferocious about her territory and a cat accidentally fell into the garden the other day - we have high walls. It was dark but there was screaming, chaos, fur and the intruder cat *somehow* jumped the entire wall from a single leap. It was all very confusing but when it needed to get out it certainly managed it!!

Rocket now lives with family members in the quiet countryside so he does go out. Here at the house Pixel & Sushi have the back garden (which is netted). They have a cat run out there which has a roof and beds so they get to go out but not to venture far. Area is too busy and yeah, wouldn't trust them with others. Hoping to move to the countryside myself so that they can go out a bit more, although as they are becoming older they will probably care less about that.
