I had two Bengals for 18 years. Best money I ever spent, miss them everyday...
@TravelersGarden_dgdr6 жыл бұрын
Wow...they lived for 18 years? That's an awesome age! My 2 Siamese are almost 10 years old, I hope they will have a lot of years ahead of them.
@Llirik136 жыл бұрын
@@TravelersGarden_dgdr They can live up to 25. But you must be really cushions about some typical illness. (arguable) most of the cats dies from renal failure. So, regular medical examinations, and only wet food(paste) with low protein(if renal function already compromised). Cats constructed in the way that them must obtain most of the water from food, they have no reasonable sense of regular hydration.
@TravelersGarden_dgdr6 жыл бұрын
@@Llirik13 I agree with that. My cats get mostly a Raw Diet & a part is also high-quality wet food (mostly as treats or here & there a meal per week). Absolutely no dry food. I really hope that it will help them to live longer. They are Siamese cats & they are known to live very long (20 years or so)...but there are of course no guarantees. Didn't know that Bengals can live that long. I suppose that you have Bengals, did yours ever had any health issues?
@Llirik136 жыл бұрын
@@TravelersGarden_dgdr I am in no possession of Bengals. I have Siames cat once, it live for 25 without any special treatment. I also lost 2 cats from renal failure in last two years... So I can speak about this problem. In my country the was no treatment at all. In US perhaps there is dialysis machine for cats, but it is no real solution, and also very expensive one.

@HotRocketBengalCats7 жыл бұрын
It's good that you take that stance as they do need space and entertainment. Our house is a decent size with many rooms but I feel like it is not enough for them to be honest. I changed the back garden so that there is another good space for them but I'd rather they had a bit more. Somebody in our street has a Bengal and it is free to roam but I'm not sure I could so the same with cars and roads nearby - I wouldn't be able to relax!
@malcolmx11557 жыл бұрын
+Hot Rocket Bengal Cats I wouldn't let my kitten roam about like that. Seen too many cats get hurt by road users. Indoor cats that do decide to roam are over confident and generally don't even bother looking at times when crossing the road when they first start going out. I think yours would be fine considering the size of your place and garden. Maybe provide them with some frames or platforms which they can do all their climbing, jumping and stretching? Cats are awesome😊
@annmallon16817 жыл бұрын
I had 2 Bengal cats and I lived In a flat with a garden and a busy road nearby. Both my cats went out and the road never bothered them. They crossed the road better than any human being. I have 3 other cats as well. I miss my Bengal cats so much. They died at 18. The road is too much of a issue with people and especially rescue people who say or that road and this and that..That's why we have so many cats in rescue because there are too many restrictions on animals and people end up buying off places like gum tree as they will still get a cat.

These cats were SO brave!!! They deserve a treat--a holiday more their speed. A beach isn't exactly cat heaven (perhaps I'm wrong, and Bengals are an exception)--though I think it was wonderful that you brought them there. It's great for them to have new and wide ranging experiences. Anyhoo, I would LOVE to see you take them somewhere lushly verdant, with lots of birds and/or fish at close enough range for them to enjoy expressing their predator fierceness--to work out those natural instincts by getting the chance to stalk, and then run after them ;) Not saying that they should be allowed to actually have access to the birds or fish--but close enough to delight in all of their wild instincts. I am enamoured of the way you care for your elegant, inquisitive and highly intelligent furbaby companions, after this one video alone. SUBSCRIBED!!!!

+MissJessye Norman Your message left me grinning, thank you! You're right in that a beach isn't necessarily the first choice for a cat but I knew they would like to climb the rocks. We do have an abundance of sand and forest nearby but I've been reluctant to take them into some of the areas due to ticks. However now that the longer days are approaching I'm keen to see where we can go next.. I guess I might need a longer lead though otherwise I'll be scaring any birds off before they even get a chance to prowl!
@missjessyenorman86358 жыл бұрын
Hot Rocket Bengal Cats Oh, thank you so very much for your thoughtful response! I totally understand and agree with your concern around ticks. I didn't even think about that :/ I try to avoid drugs/meds (unless truly necessary), but I wonder if there is something available to protect you, your bi-pedal buddies, and your feline friends ;) Whatever you choose, whether pastures green, concrete grey, or shag rug of the thick pile--I look forward to watching your journey =)
