Sir I know that I am asking too many questions for your liking but if I don't ask them I feel too stressed and that affects my health so please reply to me whenever you can. I know ruy lopez is complex opening but if I try to formulate a plan based on pawn structure which arises from it other than the typical plan (which is played i.e planting the knight on f5 and attack the king) then the pawn chain points towards queen side then why ruy often play for king side attack

Thanks! Whenever you play a game try to review it with your opponent and one thing you try to do if someone lost is to find "the losing move" - where could they have improved and saved the game. Sometimes there is more than one if the game went back and forth.

Dan, Was it your intention to show us the evaluation bar on the right ?That's sort of a distraction and gives away critical moments when the position swings up and down.

Thanks Shiv, no. I see now when the engine is running the evaluation bar is right next to the h-file so I would have to cut the right edge border very carefully to fully show the file & not the evaluation.

How does one choose what square to move one's king to when being checked by a queen?

There's no one answer for this. There are 3 ways to get out of check: move the king, block (if from a bishop, rook, or queen at a distance), or capture the attacking piece. The first question is "What are ALL the ways to get out of check?" but then you have to take time to carefully analyze each one to see what might happen next & then compare the evaluations to choose the one(s) that give you the best chance for whatever your goal is (draw, win).
