Dania beach kayak fishing, looking for a hard fight and getting one!

This is by far the hardest fight I’ve encountered on the kayak to date. A 10 minute, unspectacular, dogged, hard fight that I barely one. My arms were gassed. And the Bonita fought hard till the last second. No one cares much for these fish but they are pound for pound some of the toughest fish In The sea. And this one was eaten, contrary to the common belief that they are trash, they are extremely similar to black fin tuna. A little less firm but still very good. Just remember to bleed them ALIVE, ice them well, cut the darkest meats (bloodline) out, then soak the meat in ice water to draw out excess blood. It’s a little extra work then a blackfin yes, but, on a day where this is the only fish that hooked, it helps complete a successful trip and good dinner ! don’t bash me saying they are garbage. Especially if u haven’t tried it lol give it a real honest shot and form your own opinion rather then repeating what u hear all the time. To each his own and tight lines

Nice Bonita! That fish was really taking a lot of line. I caught two Bonitas my self this past Tuesday. Great video my brother!

Kayak Q yea bro. My drag wasn’t that loose either. They just are strong power houses. I lighten my drag forwards the end of a fight but he really had me think smoker king. I appreciate the kind word about the video man thNk you. These guys are gonna be thick for a while now but I don’t mind them. On a slow bite they are fun. That’s different on day when ur trying to preserve baits for meat fish and they are smacking em lol. When ur gonna launch. Sunday we gotta link and do some damage my mans ✊
