By the way, the musicians in the background were the real McCoys, Elvis's original band mates when he started. The guitarist is non other than Scotty Moore, drums D.J. Fontana, and Bill Black on that standup bass. These guys were initially being used in Elvis's early movies.

This clip shows not only Elvis, but Scotty Moore (lead guitar) D.J Fontana (drums) and Bill Black (bass), who were Elvis's original band members "The Blue Moon Boys". I also remember Elvis never watched this movie after he made it, because Judy Tyler (along with her husband) was killed in a car crash, on her honeymoon, just a few days after she finished filming her scenes for the movie. Great movie. So sad she & her husband were killed on the way home after movie was done. Elvis was so broken up that he’d only go to the premier because of pressure. But he never watched it again. So sad. He worked hard with her & said she was such a wonderful person.

He did want to be a dramatic actor, like Brando, whom he admired , but the "Colonel" wouldnt let him . He was making 50% of Elvis's earnings and he didnt want to lose his golden goose .Elvis never fought him on this .

If you havent seen the movie make sure you do. Youll love it. Elvis just got out of jail and his attitude isnt anything like the real Elvis . In real life, Elvis would give you the shirt off his back if you wanted it . I know some really nice stories about him .

HERE IS THE PROBLEM WITH MAKING YOUR FAVORITE SONGS LIST OF ELVIS'S You'll find that if you make a list of your favorite Elvis songs in running order from 1 to 769 .... Put it down on paper .... You would have it made ... However .... As you listen to more Elvis songs ....You'll soon find out that you need to move a few around .... As you will soon find out that after a few other songs go by .... You'll change a few again .... Just because .... Well .... They'll just fit better if you do a new line up That's all .... Simple RIGHT .... However you'll soon find out that after a few other songs you play he did go by .... You again will have to move a few around to fit your new line up .... OK All set .... NO WAIT .... WAIT .... There is this one song that will not leave your head .... Of course no list is correct without making sure it all fits your .... Let's say at the beginning ....1- 50 list as a good start out of the exactly 769 songs Elvis recorded .... For your favorite's list .... AT-LEAST FOR NOW .... RIGHT .... However .... To save some time on this list thing you're doing ....You'll want to shorten it to maybe your favorite 10 list .... As it should be easy to do 10 .... I mean after all he is only human .... No, I refuse to list all 769 songs in the order of my liking. It's too many and it would take far too much time to do so, and I won't let it bother me one bit . I can live just fine with the ten that I've chosen as my favorites. There's too much stress in life as it is. However, I am working on my list of my favorite one million stars in our Galaxy ...I should complete the list about four or five thousand years AFTER my death... I liked his first ten movies, not much after that. He liked even less of them. He was very upset when he saw the final cut of GI Blues. He told Priscilla it was ridiculous and the songs weren't worth a cat's ass! He wouldn't even watch most of the movies he made in the Sixties. Elvis wanted to do the types of roles that Marlon Brando and James Dean were getting, but after Flaming Star did poorly at the box office and Wild in the Country was the only movie he made that lost money, the movie executives would only let him do musical romantic comedies. I think it's a shame they didn't let him do the kind of movies he wanted to. Personally I thought he did the dramatic movies really well. My favorite was King Creole, and I recently read that it was also the movie he himself was most proud of. I've always been a huge Elvis fan, ever since seeing his first performance on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1956, but not a big fan of those later movies. But I will say that even though there were a lot of throwaway songs written for them, there were also some great songs to be found in them.
