I have personally walked around Truc Bach Lake in Hanoi and there was a stone memorial to Senator John McCain, who was shot down on the 26 October, 1967, while piloting an A-4 Skyhawk, and landing nearby where he was captured. Sometimes you just come across things out of the blue in Vietnam that make you think 'Hmmm'.

How are you able to stay in Vietnam long term? Visa wise I mean
@DanieJay2 жыл бұрын
Right now it's really difficult to get a business visa. Pre-2020 you used to be able to get a 1-year multi-entry visa for pretty cheap, but now you can't. Your best bet is to come on a 1-month tourist visa and then try to get a job (there are many teaching jobs) that will sponsor you for an extended visa. You'd have to do a visa run after that first month is up but then could come back for longer. You can do a visa run in a day.

Hi Danie! Very nice video - thanks for sharing you experience. We just spend a whole week in Hanoi - Tay Ho - trying to find an apartment. We found the process quite hard, only 1 year contract or $1000+/month 2 bedrooms, or apartments in middle of a construction zone (neighbouring house demolished ready to for build project...) I feel that it has to be much easier to find something interesting - we are most probably missing something as far as the apartment hunt process... My wife is Vietnamese and still receives USD offers (go figure) that feels much inflated... Any tips on how to find good apartments at local price? I don't think the average person is interested in 30Mil dong/month rent? Thanks in advance for any tips you can share! Cheers -Denis
