Thanks for pointing out the Legacy Library ! 8 years ago I watched a tutorial from you about the korg Elektribe Sampler (start of my music journey). Out of nothing I got a whole lot of NI stuff trown in my lap. Good we meet again !

You're right. Complete gem. I wish a non private equity company would buy the rights to Reaktor and develop version 7. And make a new battery while they're at it as well.

@@danieklerr I think there are better drum machines out there, especially with the lack of sample management (XLN, Algonault), no real sequencer (too many to name), no modulation, relatively minimal effects (but good). But some ppl still use it regularly. Been around forever. Straightforward workflow, regular high quality sound pack release, flexibility in setup and usage. Checking out the toybox modules now!

Oh, the biggest thing (for me) against battery is the lack of UI scaling, and dated interface in general. So it can be hard to see if you don't know it well. I will be getting one of the Teletone Audio drum programs (youtube has great vids)...only you can say if it's of any interest...but the programs from XLN, Algonault, Sample Alchemy? (Triaz), Audiomodern, PluginAlliance came up in my search. I didn't look for any recreations of drum machines...these are all drum vsts that aren't based on anything.

So many people sleep on Reaktor. I don't know if NI just doesn't want to market it like their other software, or something? Anyway, I've been a serious user for a full decade now, so I decided to finally talk about it, lol. Thank you for watching!

I feel the exact same way! Side note: I just got a Korg Modwave, out for delivery today, and I really expect it to have a lot of the sonic qualities of Razor. Thanks for watching!

You know, I've definitely come to feel that way about the Modwave, but I also love the feature set. So it's forcing me to work in creative ways to get thick oscs out of it.

@@danieklerr Cool! Just to say that Frostbite 2 and EQuivocate are the free gifts at Plugin Boutique atm and there's an intro price for Dynawide on WA Productions, I bought to cheap plugins to get them...saved me $100? The WA sale is good for 16 days....again cool buddy, have a fun day!

I got that Frostbite 2 deal. I also got the AIR Essential Synths Pack recently (products/7741-AIR-Essential-Synths-Pack at Plugin Boutique) for $9.99 USD! This includes the Loom 2 spectral synth, which is absolutely stunning. This bundle is almost $300 if you buy the synths separately.

Yeah when I was new to music production I just got Komplete and for whatever reason never bothered with Reaktor. One day I opened it and started going through the instruments and kept thinking "When did I buy this?" and after a few instruments thought that I must have a trial version or somehow ended up with way more instruments than what's normal or that something was wrong. After some investigation I finally realized it was just an amazing pandoras box that for whatever reason a lot of people sleep on. Whenever native instruments comes out with a new instrument my first thought now is "I bet theres something that already sounds like that in Reaktor."

I love this story! Funny enough, Reaktor 5 was my first Native Instruments plugin, even before Massive synthesizer. I downloaded the trial because I was overwhelmed using MAX and wanted something more immediate. It's been a very rewarding journey every since! Thank you for watching. :)

No music software im aware of can even begin to compare with Reaktor. Really cool to experiment with making ones own synth and effects..! The "Reaktor Core" modules are GREEK to me, but the "normal" modules are relatively easy to understand the basics of, after a few tutorials.

Can you link me to a list of the 70 instruments that Reaktor comes with.I cannnot find it anywhere on NI's website and it would be nice to know what synths are included and what are extra in the variuos Komplete packages. Thanks

How are you? I looked everywhere for the information, and was unable to get a list. I think I could possible take some screenshots of the content of the devices folders, or even take a recording of me opening every one, but that would take a while, haha. I appreciate you watching, and if you send me a message at SnowMetalUniversity at Gmail, I'll see if I can get you the information you want.

Thanks I did get the Reaktor list from someone in the Reaktor community and then from NI.It's in the download section on the website where you can get a Reaktor manual which also lists all the instruments.Thinking of getting Complete Start whenfunds alow as it also includes Kontact which I'd like too.@@danieklerr

Came to check on this video to see what ive missed. Reaktor is hands down, the best piece of music related software, ive spent countless hours making my own ensembles and / or tweaking the premade ones. Some examples being: Reason's Objekt Remake (not pefect but somewhat close) Newscool tweak for generative synthesis (turned the 8 or so mod sources from the ensemble into 64, using various matrices) Generative Razor patches (even with combination from the newscool mod sources) Unique otherworldy resonator fx ensembles I could go on and on, have yet to find a wall limiting my creativity, and ive been using it for around 2-3 years by now. I'll definitely have to check some of these ensembles out! Sometimes its best to work with premade works, rather than spending time/wasting creative flow on trying to develop a unique ensemble, it can really start to use up your fuel (atleast in my experience, trying to painfully mitigate artifacts or unpleasant results in my own ensembles).

You know, I feel the same way about building on others' work. I can do pretty much anything in Reaktor from scratch, but most of the time the architecture has already been built and improved upon for whatever I have in mind. It reminds me of the old Italian painters and sculptors, who would give instructions to their student minions for the basic layout of a work, only to be dialed in and meticulously augmented by the master later. It's the same approach I take with sample packs. PS.. A Newscool 64 sounds amazing. :)

imo the best thing ever which came out from NI labs... and the reaktor user library is like the m4l user library for LIve... mindblowing devices from huge brains for free. Lot of guys who release free devices or ensembles used to work in the pro audio industry or still do ! (gaming, movies, whatever...)

I do love some other NI offerings, but I think of Reaktor as indispensable in my work. I've also noticed that many of the NI paid products are built in and are based on Reaktor.

I just wanted to show a few of the devices in as little time as necessary. I would never call this a track of any kind, tbh! And for those not familiar with Reaktor, there is so much more regarding building devices and even snapshots, morphing and randomization of patches. Maybe I'll get into it in a future video. Thank you for watching. :)
