In this final passage of the Book of Daniel, the prophet Daniel sees two other figures standing on either side of a river. One of them asks the man clothed in linen, who is above the waters, about the end times. The man raises both hands to heaven and swears by the one who lives forever that it will be for a time, times, and half a time, and that these events will conclude when the power of the holy people has been shattered. Daniel, curious about the outcomes, is told to go his way-these words are sealed until the end. He receives assurance that the wise will understand, the wicked will continue in wickedness, and he will rest and rise to his allotted inheritance at the end of the days.
