I’ve watched this orchestra’s Beethoven cycle on KZbin several years ago & loved it!!! I even bought this cycle (Beethoven For All) on iTunes. This is an outstanding orchestra of excellent musicians and a world renowned conductor. This, in significant part, really drew me to classical music.

Barenboim looks conspicuously like Bruckner in his old age. They say Furtwängler composed the music as he conducted it. More evidence that Barenboim is Furtwängler's heir, given how much Bruckner he's conducted. Makes more sense than it sounds like.

Was für eine tolle Musik, ich liebe Beethoven über alles, übrigens komme ich auch aus Bonn, allerdings 180 Jahre später. Meine Familie war mit der Familie Beethovens befreundet.
