We see in scripture that God works in sevens. God worked six days in creation and rested on the seventh day. So much can be said about the number seven in scripture but in short seven is the number of perfection, completion and fullness. Jesus said that My Father has been working until now and I have been working (John 5:17). God has been working since the fall of man to redeem man. We can call this the week of Redemption. The millennium spoken in Revelation 20 will be a day of rest. A day is as a thousand years to God and a thousand years as a day (Psalm 90:4; 2 Peter 3:8). If God is working again, according to the pattern and indication of scripture, God works 6 days and will rest on the seventh. Notice how in Exodus 12:3-6, God tells Moses to say that every man shall take a lamb on the 10th day and kill it on the 14th day. The lamb is killed after 4 days. From Adam to Christ, we have 4 days too or ~4000 years. From then, until Jesus establishes His reign on earth is therefore estimated to be about 2 days or 2000 years, which is then followed by the day of rest, where Christ and His church reigns on the earth for 1000 years (The Millennium of Revelation 20).
