The Late Late Show with James Corden

2 жыл бұрын

James chats with "No Time To Die" stars Daniel Craig and Rami Malek, and Rami shares he didn't have to consider accepting a role as the film's villain - it was an instant yes. And Daniel talks about his approach at trying to evolve his portrayal of James Bond over five films before James asks him about what advice he has for the next person to be cast as 007. After, Daniel remembers his early days on the stage when students would throw candy at him (that he ate).

Daniel Craig was the perfect fit for giving Bond a facelift. And that was the plan for the new movies. The black/white scene in Casino Royale told the viewers which direction we are going. They have written history with his films, unique, changes, and it was a connected story this was new in bonds franchise. An Daniel handled, Bond in a modern classy way, and it was never to much. With a perfect and inevitable ending. I will miss this guy.

Daniel Craig made Bond history for being able to have this serialized chronology of how they're all tied together under the Spectre umbrella. I don't think you can watch "No Time To Die" as a standalone and have the full impact without watching the other Craig Bond movies in their order that helps make sense of what is going on in "No Time To Die". This is unique and when the producers at EON reboot the franchise with a new actor, I don't know if they'll follow this path again or go back to just standalone movies like they did before Craig. It's as if they did the MCU but with the Bond universe for the last 15 years.

I would love to see a (maybe brief) foray into a young James Bond. The Alex Rider series had glimmers of what that could be like, but this would be so much more interesting. Skyfall, his parents’ climbing accident, attending Eton, & all the adventures along the way.

Thought Daniel did a terrific job as he made Bond human. Casino Royale was a great launch pad for him but I felt the plots in the following movies were running out of ideas as though Ian Fleming never existed. Best thing they could do is make all the Roger Moore movies with the exception of Live and Let Die all over again and stick more to the novels.

I think Daniel Craig was the best. Who knew that a Blond Bond would end up being my all time favorite. He just brought the character to a whole new level. Sean Connery was wonderful for his era and I also enjoyed Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan. But Daniel Craig has redefined the role. Good luck to the next guy who takes the character on. He will have huge and very fashionable shoes to fill.

I think Daniel Craig has done a stellar job as James Bond. There was a lot of criticism when he was first announced as JB as he was blonde and historically James Bond has been this "tall, dark and handsome" person. Watched No Tie to Die over the weekend at the cinema. Definitely sad to see him go. Hopefully, we see him back on the big screen soon 👍

What’s great about James Bond is that he’s been played six times on screen for the last 60 years. From Sean to Daniel, everyone has their personal preference and for me it is undoubtedly Craig. His performance is robust, refined yet distinguished and his line of bond movies subverted my expectations in ways I never imagined. I will miss him dearly. NTTD was the perfect swan song to the franchise. In the words of Carly Simon - Nobody does it better.

Despite not being a fan of Craig, for him this movie is like saying "goodbye" to James Bond's role, which he's played for many years. On the other hand, Rami amazed me because I never thought he was going to play a villian role but he did it. Growing up I was and still am the biggest James Bond fan. I’ve seen all of the films, old and new. I absolutely loved Pierce Brosnan as Bond, he was my favorite. When Daniel Craig took over I was devastated and instantly hated the idea. Then after seeing the first movie with Daniel Craig, he did such an incredible job I was hooked and sold on every movie since. He has solidified himself more and more as 007 with each film, when I think of 007 now or James Bond, I think Daniel Craig. I hate the idea of losing him. Thank you, Daniel Craig, for blessing the big screen with your one of a kind style and years of classic Bond Movies. Biggest shoes to fill for the 007 franchise yet. Huge fan of all you do man , can wait to see what you do next. Good day.

Mate, I just saw it yesterday and I can say without hesitation that it felt emotionally devastating to witness how it ultimately played out. And that is a direct testimony to Daniel Wroughton Craigs absolutely superb depiction of the Bond character. He IS Bond through and through. Even Connery pales next to Craig when you look at how Craig a superior actor who has done the stage several times during his career, had the depth to bring Bond out of the dark ages and growing parody that even Connery was not capable of achieving. Only Timothy Dalton another fine stage actor who preceded Craig understood that Bond needed to have real humanity and depth to him. Craig took it even deeper and gave the cinematic world a Bond that will resonate for quite a long time.
