Great interview. Excellent insight into the minds of actors and navigating the difficulties of tv/movie productions. Throwing humor in doesn't hurt either.

This is my first "Smartless", I watched a Daniel Craig interview after just a couple Bond films. "Casino Royale" is second only to "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" in terms of my kind of film; story over gadgets. Before Craig's first time as Bond, I saw him in "Layer Cake", an excellent film that Will, Sean and Jason apparently didn't watch... If they had, they would have definitely mentioned it. I do like actors asking actors instead of hosts who want to be actors asking questions yet they didn't do their homework on why directors, writers and editors matter. The experience within this group is helping the questions. Like I said, this is my first visit here. A commenter on the Jason/Jimmy interview mentioned the podcast but my only subscription to social media is KZbin. Also not mentioned was Daniel Craig on SNL shortly after the Craig/Bond retirement announcement. Because I watched "Layer Cake", because for another Bond; the drawn out helicopter opening scene for Bond and James crashing through the roof of a train carriage was at least topped off with Daniel Craig adjusting his cuffs, crocking his neck and pantomiming "let's go" saving the first two, I tuned into more than just "Weekend Update" when Craig guest hosted. It was not well written for him but he can laugh at himself. Finally, I've only seen a few movies overall and only handful of movies with Daniel Craig in them. Everyone can be forgiven for not knowing about "Flashbacks of a Fool" but it was much better than just good. No credit for me discovering it. Free nights of movies on a subscription teaser movie channel's weekend. Kicking aside the gadgetry of James Bond, it would appear that Daniel Craig makes good choices for work and he brings an A Game to the set.

...and I had to stop back here to add "Cinematography" to the list of key contributions to a film. You could interview Steven Soderbergh, I (without time for checking right now) believe he has at least a trifecta on "Ocean's 11" due to using also using a pseudonym.

Craig playing the role of Mr. Sowerberry in Oliver! His character sings "That's Your Funeral" I'm surprised that Sean didn't know that being a musical theatre buff. Fun show.

Just want to say Sean is the sole reason why this podcast works. Also since you want BYE fan suggestions, here goes. Bicycle, Bi, buy and by(Example: I am by the fire hydrant). Honestly I thought I'd come up with something better, but it's a shallow pool, much like what the royal family has to deal with.

You guys have so many interesting people on, and I’m a fan of some of your work (AD), but I find this podcast so difficult to listen to. Will Americans ever understand that a question shouldn’t be a paragraph every time? Will you ever let the guest speak and develop their idea before you jump in and say what you think about it?

50:00 I’m shocked to hear that someone loaded with money still needs to work for money 😮! He and his wife must have other investments that allow them to live a luxurious life without ever needing to work! Do these people even have mortgages? If I had 10 millions sitting in my bank, I wouldn’t work for the rest of my life lol
@PBL199993 күн бұрын
I dunno, maybe there's more to life than just what's in your bank account?
@fvnt0miix9533 күн бұрын
@@PBL19999 well he answered he might continue acting cause “it depends how big the bills are” and he also said another actor worked in his 90s to pay for diamonds for the boyfriend… so it IS about his bank account! He could’ve said I’ll continue acting “if the script is good enough” or “if it’s something unusual and exciting”, but nope! He talked about paying his bills when he gets paid millions for 1 movie 😕
