Daniel Harding is, without a shadow of a doubt, a world-class conductor. I was lucky enough to see him live two days in a row conducting Brahms' complete symphonies with the Swedish Radio Orchestra. It was pure magic. He has a magnetic and brilliant way of conducting and the orchestra produces a silky sound. Aside of that, I absolutely agree with him that Scenes of Goethe's Faust is unfairly underperformed nowadays. I wish someday I can see this masterpiece live conducted by Harding (and if possible, with Christian Gerhaher in the leading role).
