DTA - Don't Trust Anybody Yes, this might go against your instincts and it is a very cynical mindset, but you either need to develop it fast, or (assuming you somehow manage to live long enough homeless) you will slowly develop it anyway over time. Two things to do no matter your circumstance in life: develop situational awareness (know and understand the potential dangers around you at all times) and never look like a potential victim (don;t flash valuables or large amounts of cash, always walk with others, etc). Above all, trust your instincts, and if you have a pet, particularly a dog, trust their instincts above your own.
