Diamond tiara is an interesting charachter because it shows that people who are hurting are the ones that are hurting others. we see this behaviour with starlight because of childhood trauma involving losing her best friend sun burst and with Tempest in the movie for being rejected by others because of her injury. We also see this with babs seed but in her case it was more because of peer pressure more than her own will as she saw a direct treat at herself and the only way she avoided it was by joining the bullies. the psychology in the show is just fascinating to me and you learn a lot from the world around you by thinking about perspective and what others might feel that cause them to act a certain way.

I always wondered about Diamond Tiara and why she acts the way she does. "She's just a spoiled mean girl" is rarely the way it works, especially not in these kinds of "everyone has a place" shows. Any time she was shown with her dad in the earlier seasons, he basically ignored her most of the time. The one instance he was shown paying direct attention to her, it was to scold her. Filthy Rich seems like the kind of Pony who has the resources to be a parent, but not the love necessary to raise a truly happy and well adjusted child. He probably thinks he can just substitute expensive gifts for love, which is where a lot of parents go wrong. If Diamond Tiara had some secret pain inside this whole time, and that's why she lashed out, I'm hardly surprised.
