I never heard Shawn McLemores rendition. But, many have re-recorded this song. It's an old hymn written by Ira Stanphill in 1950. Two or Three words were changed from the original version, but only because that's how I know it. So, if anyone deserves "please props", it's Ira Stanphill. dj

When i first started singing gospel i was not save. I sang until my heart drew me more to the Lord. It's all where your heart is and where your heart leads you. People now a days look at the out side appearance of a person instead of the heart. That's why I am thankful for Jesus Christ because he looks at the heart and not the outside. If people continue to judge on the outside then it will be hard to get people in the church. I do agree to what you said.

Sup Drab. I never took voice or anything else to do with music in school. I taught myself to arrange and use harmony by harmonizing with people like Ella Fitzgerald, Kim Burrell and Brandy. While they're singing their lead, I'll take the top or bottom note to try different harmonies. This technique help me when I went to concerts, musicals or services and they called me up to sing background on the spot. As long as I knew the main note, I could figure out the top or bottom note quickly.
