Coming back and watching this after not just the loss to the Vikings but the prior four seasons-including the lone playoff season-is mind-blowing. Yes, they are not showing the strip sacks, and he had a lot of them, but to actually see Jones make some of those throws that far down field is a freakin' fever dream. I do remember he had a good deep ball in 2019. The issue was he had no pocket awareness and would often have the ball knocked out of his hand as he was setting up to throw deep. In the years, HCs, and OCs that followed, the emphasis seemed to be mainly on cutting down on the strip sacks. While they did succeed there, he not only became allergic to throwing more than 10 yards down field, but he did not actually develop pocket awareness. If anything, it got worse. While he simply looked like a rookie making rookie mistakes-but showing promise-in 2019, he has since just looked preoccupied with not turning the ball over as opposed to getting it into the other end zone. Saquon allowed him to get away with that in 2022, but that bandage has been yanked off, so to speak. Whether he was just poorly coached or never truly had "it" to begin with, I do not ever expect to see anything like this from him again. Sad, but reality.

There’s a certain someone in this comment section that keeps saying Dak Prescott won MVP in his rookie year. That’s false, he won ROY which is not the same thing. Matt Ryan won MVP that year, throughout Dak’s career so far, he has not won an MVP award ever. Just to clear that up for y’all.

That's what I kept telling him, but apparently since I'm "I'm Muslim" he thinks i must know nothing about football.

When i think about his rookie year in a good offense, that makes me believe he may really have a chance this year with Dabol. judges offenses were trash…
@timothyflesch69984 жыл бұрын
He has a lot of potential. Very high ceiling. Can definitely be a star and very special in this league quickly. He reminds me a bit of Jimmy Garappolo Peyton manning and Matt Ryan
@Bflo235 жыл бұрын
If he didn't get injured and miss those 2 games, he would have easily broken the rookie record for most TD passes. He had a solid rookie year especially with all the injured offensive weapons and poor o-line. His stats are nearly identical with Tom Brady in rating, QBR, pass %, yards per reception and TD passes (but played far less games than Brady).

I have to say that I was impressed with the kid. I think that the team needs to keep improving around him. I hope that they can pick up a receiver who can be that number one threat, while Slayton and Sheppard are great second and third options. And of course, that tackle position needs to be a priority. I was impressed with Jones' TD-Int ratio being so good in his rookie year, with such a subpar team to do it for him. Go blue!

Yup. They took way too long to get him a average oline and a wr1. He's a shell if the player he came in as. People forget his rookie season. The giants destroyed his career
@timothyflesch69984 жыл бұрын
Fumbling is the biggest thing but the other stuff like recognizing blitz getting rid of the ball quicker and some of the bad decisions will be fixed very quickly he can definitely be one of the best ever in the nfl and one of the best qbs in the league

In the rookie year turnovers don’t matter as much. It’s about the potential he showed. Keep in mind he had a better passer rating than aaron Rodgers and a better completion percentage than Tom Brady

What few people seem to understand is not that he performed well for a rookie or frankly for a bonafide pro on a bad team, but he came into the league with tremendous pressure. It wasn't just a preseason game it was everything. The balls to go 7 for 7 in that first pre season game!! He's the truth!

The giants have a very underrated offense. Tate is TOUGH. Shep is solid. Evan Engram. Possibly the best all around RB in the game in Saquon. Darius Slayton can BALL. now Andrew Thomas next to will Hernandez at OL. Danny dimes CRUSHED expectations as a rookie. This team just needs more help on defense and they’ll be in position to be successful!

I feel it’s a mix of his career injuries, offensive line struggles, lack of offensive talent, and inconsistent coaching, and also Daniel Jones’s decision making is terrible.

This kid is a lot better than what people are giving him credit for. I thought the Giants organization was a joke after drafting this kid over Haskins. But I can say that he has proved me wrong so far. You could honestly have a argument that he was the best rookie QB this season, Majority of his stats are as good if not better than Murray’s.
