There are a ton of accents in Europe but you can say someone has a European accent, if compared to Africa or the US. So if an Irish actor, for example, faked a New Jersey accent, I know it’s “[US] American” despite there being other regions. It really is okay to say African (or other continents’) accent in some instances. 🙄
