Any hood in the states. I used to frequent Magic Johnson theater located in the Los Angeles Creshaw district... In addition to talking back, there was singing, dancing in the seats, laughing and co signing in unison... Man those were the days.

Same here in Nigeria : ) to us, the audience is as important as the cast. Read somewhere that in many communities, the 'conversation' is dictated by the listener, not the speaker. I've noticed that amongst many black and brown people worldwide (Indigenous and Black Americans, Africans, some south Asians)

@@sonad1213 good point but also, the US has many accents yet we can surely say an accent is from somewhere in the US. There are a ton of accents in Europe but you can say someone has a European accent, if compared to Africa or the US. So if an Irish actor, for example, faked a New Jersey accent, I know it’s “[US] American” despite there being other regions. It really is okay to say African (or other continents’) accent in some instances. 🙄
