For me the part from 6:31 on is the most brilliant music ever composed.

I am doing this same thing for my senior recital up in minnesota and am wondering.. how much did you look into the stage set up? Is this a standard of doing it? I have always seen just side by side.. and thought it worked cause you could glance at the accompanists' hands during more rubato parts. I assume the sound is better doing it this way though?

I personally am also for side by side because the accompanist is basically the conductor in a way and is more useful to look at my hands as often the conductor does. I would do 2 grand pianos side by side, accompanist inside, soloist outside and soloist on big stick while accompanist on removed lid due to acoustics and volume.

student memorized it; teacher uses sheet music
@nikolaydimitrov21502 жыл бұрын
Hahha, it is not about memorisation. The teacher uses the score because she is accompanying as an orchestra and conductor, it is always useful and important to know where the soloist is, like the conductor has the full score overview in front of them. Especially in romantic concertos where everything could be quite flexible and personal in terms of timing, it is a necessity to play it from score as accompanist like chamber music as a pianist due to the same and similar reasons.
