Four compelling reasons why Toroitich was much older than 12 in 1936: 1) He was initiated 2) He was big-bodied (so that he's not molested by cattle rustlers) 3) He had a sense of geography (he knew where he was going) 4) He was literate (that is why he bought a Bible to read for himself)

Good people, let us not forget that Mr. Lee Njiru is a "career communicator" who has dealt with the media most of his life. Infact he is part of the media. In this interview, Bridget has tried, it's quite a task. Media houses need to send older journalists who are conversant with the Moi era or young journalists who have done a thorough research to understand the Moi era to interview a personality like Mr. Lee Njiru on matters concerning Mzee Moi. Today I heard young boys and girls wondering aloud if Mzee Moi had a wife, children etc. There is a generation that didn't learn much about Mzee Moi and such interviews are a source of enlightenment for most of them, especially when the journalist carrying out the interview is more prepared and ready to listen plus learn. Everytime I listen to Mr. Lee Njiru I learn something new. Pole sana Mr. Lee Njiru, may God comfort you and his entire family during this difficult time.
