I still can't believe I'm looking at a HBO trailer for my great friend and brother Daniel. He would be completely out of his mind right now and in disbelief (as am I). His soul is singing and vibrating so strongly that there might be a super nova explosion happening right now.

I have been following Daniel's story since I watched Daniel's interview on 16X9 11 years ago. His sister Erin has kept me in the loop over the years while facing unsurmountable issues trying to get Daniel's story published. Erin kudos to you & to everyone involved in accomplishing Daniel's dream I as others will be tuning in on December 20th. This is absolutely the greatest gift of all, the love between a brother & sister, Erin you did it!!!

I've never been so uplifted and devastated by a movie, or anything else for that matter. Daniel's story is told from his own point of view, narrated by the sound of his voice, and framed by the lenses of his camera, spanning many years and dozens of countries, with the kind of raw beauty and gutting grief that are part of all life. Daniel struggled with his place in the world but that didn't stop him from seeing the beauty in it, exploring it, and committing it both to film and to memory. His battle with leukemia and the heartbreaking struggle to come to terms with terminal illness, surrounded and supported by a loving family, whose dedication to honoring his memory and final wish led to the completion of Daniel's film, are both heart-breaking and beautiful. For it isn't the length of time we spend on this earth, or the accolades or fortunes we may amass, what determine a life well-lived, or even a rich one. It is the ability to take the world in and let it move us and help us grow. The gift of letting life have an impression upon our spirit, and for our spirit to have make an impression on the living we have the good fortune to connect with. In this, Daniel's legacy more than succeeds, and I am certain with will touch and inspire countless people as it did me. As the song goes, "Everybody dies but not everybody lives." There are people who live to old age and don't live as much or as fully as Daniel lived in 3 decades of life. Always remember to love, and to be present in the moment, for it is in the mundane that we can truly be still and feel the rhythm of life sync to the beat of our own hearts. Rest in Power, Daniel.

I cried at the end, I’m devastated. Right at this moment in my life I am learning to live, to see the beauty in the experiences that come from letting go, from allowing myself to see others as human beings with a history behind their name, to know the corners and wonders of this planet that are bigger than one can imagine. It’s the life that becomes tangible when your eyes shift and you see beyond the walls that we build without realizing it. It pains me so much that a soul so full of life and such immense yearnings to live were extinguished so soon. How beautiful this documentary and how beautiful each and every one of the people who appeared in it. Thank you Daniel.

This story and this character is better than any championship run by a professional sports team. This story is about life and reality and the hardships that come with all the greatness that life offers. Every energy and every force and every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Loving and living a full life means fully accepting death and the pain and hardships that come along with it. Wish I had HBO so that I could watch this whole movie.

I just watched this. It’s interesting to me that when someone retains a childlike/creative quality past a certain point in life, they tend to have been a victim of childhood trauma. That trauma freezes them at the stage where their brain is in a “creative wonderment” mode that we’re supposed to grow out of…but they never do. This might explain why they don’t follow the traditional path in life & see life differently. Artists, entertainers, performers of all types usually have this stuff in their background but some aren’t open about it. I know the doc showed that his parents divorced when he was 9, but I wonder if he had trauma even before that. It’s certainly none of our business as he already shared so much about his life here, just can’t help but try to connect some of the dots.
@RowanMarshmallow

he likely did, many things can cause trauma in a child even when they aren't horribly abusive things, just something that happens in life. We are so sensitive, and our brains are so sensitive, even tho we'd like to think we aren't

Just finished this movie and my first thoughts honestly and wholeheartedly... " I just watched a real-life documentation of a curse." Check It, before you label me Insensitive...Hear me out I am pretty sure haunting visions of returning something you took from a Maya temple, not to mention after your untimely demise the object then being located by what looks to be human remains stashed away so secretive that even you, yourself at the time of the thoughts of imminent demise couldn't locate ??? Can be translated some other way but I unfortunately don't speak that language. I mean Felix clearly attempts to warn him.
