Daniel is so charismatic, he’s really good at expressing subtle disagreement without making it sound like he thought Nico was wrong. He did it with the mind games, when Nico asked 3x if he got his talent from his mom and not his dad, and when he said the crash was more Daniels fault.

@mamavswild 2 жыл бұрын
@@adamsteinhardt6393 Yes I noticed thay (although I’m in agreement with Nico on that particular teammate hit…Max and Daniel are both capable of getting past things like that on a personal level- you could tell Daniel was still more upset with his team for ‘setting the stage’ with bad management. That may be the genesis of his departure to Renault. I know it wasn’t Max, who remains his good friend. I wish he had not left, looking back. He and Max were still the best pairing support and performance wise. I wish he had been able to put the rest of it with the team behind…(although I don’t think that Daniel burned any genuine bridges, they remain quite fond of him to this day).

1:03:50 ONE SHORT QUESTION: gentlemen, a short view back to the past. Thirty years ago, Niki Lauda told us ‘take a monkey, place him into the cockpit and he is able to drive the car.’ Thirty years later, Sebastian told us ‘I had to start my car like a computer, it’s very complicated.’ And Nico Rosberg said that during the race - I don’t remember what race - he pressed the wrong button on the wheel. Question for you both: is Formula One driving today too complicated with twenty and more buttons on the wheel, are you too much under effort, under pressure? What are your wishes for the future concerning the technical programme during the race? Less buttons, more? Or less and more communication with your engineers?
@kshitijpatil5942
@kshitijpatil5942 4 жыл бұрын
can you please repeat the question?
@DimitriMoreira
@DimitriMoreira 4 жыл бұрын
Lauda said that 20 years ago. When Schumacher won his 3rd championship, an interviewer asked Prost if he thought Michael would equal him or even surpass him and Prost answered: "of course, (today) it's like playing videogames. You have all the assists and the cars are a lot safer and have no reliability issues." Then Lauda was asked what he thought about Prost's comment and he answered "Yes, I agree. You can put a monkey behind the wheel and he would drive it (the car)". Also, Alonso, Button, Hamilton, all of them drove 80's cars and all of them agreed the car was a lot harder to handle. The McLaren channel still has the videos up. You can just go watch it. And remember all of them drove old cars in the Goodwood Festival. Older cars were a lot harder since you didn't have the control over anything and you had to counter that with driving skills.

Me too although I did do a short stint at Brackley. Then I was impressed Nico when you spoke to all of us on the turn of the stairs as your introduction with Ross Brawn. You showed grit which really is not immediately evident from your normal conversation. You then of course proved by taking The World Championship. You now show that in interviews you do not shy away from the difficult matters. Martin Brundle does a good interview but he can slew round or over the more sensitive issues. You show again in these interviews the difficult matters are key to explore but in order to reach them you have a fantastic quality in keeping the atmosphere light giving the interviewee the best opportunity to give a meaningful and very often heart felt response. All the better for us!! Thanks

What a great insight from both Daniel and Nico without any corporate partners or press officers stepping in to curtail the chat. One of the best F1 interviews I have seen, the driving tips from Nico to Dan were very intriguing and hats off to Daniel for listening intently and I have no doubt he'll implement. Well done Nico and Dan, and yes, get that date sorted. :) I would love to see a similar podcast with Sebastian, but anyway, keep up the superb content.

Daniels comment "you feel weightless" was a beautiful way to describe how it is when everything is right. He does himself a disservice to believe he is not a deep thinker. That's one of the most insightful descriptions of being ready I have heard. Great podcast Nico. Thank you Daniel.

We start to appreciate people or what they have done, when they are gone of the activity. Many people on F1 or outside where making look bad about you, but maybe it was disconfortable to them to see a person showing real and ask for the same attitude from them. That's what i can feel about you, and what millons of us have to face without consequences. Thanks for this Nico and i hope to see you bringing this stuff more and more years.
