AT THE BEGINNING, I WAS SCARED BY THE DURATION OF THE TALK. BUT AS IT IS EXCELLENT, I AM STILL FOLLOWING IT, AND THERE IS NOT MUCH TO THE END OF IT. THANKS! I HEARD IN THE PRESENTATION THAT YOU CUTATED IN 1997 AN IMPORTANT EXHIBITION ON MCINTOSH, WHICH TRAVELLED WIDELY IN THE US. SO I WILL TRY TO BUY THE CATALOGUE. MY OWN ANALYSIS: ORIENTALISM ARRISES ALREADY FROM THE VERY BEGINNING IF HIS CAREER, IN THE CANVAS ON THE DEATH OF BRUNELLESCHI, WITH A FIGURE IN ORIENTAL COSTUME. THIS IS TO BE PLACED IN THE RISE OF ORIENTALISM IN THE YEAR HE PAINTED IT. AND AS YOU MENTIONED HE DID A TRIP TO DAMASCUS, WHEN OTHETS IN FRANCE TRAVELLED TO ROME AND GREECE STILL. IF YOU ATE RIGHT ABOUT THE THE INFLUENCE OF SICILIAN NORMAN BUILDINGS, SUCH AS THE CAPELLA PALATINO, IT SHOUKD NOT BE CALLED "THE ARAB HALL" BUT "NORMAN-ARAB HALL", I THINK.
