Here’s what he said in Jigsaw that stuck with me; say you only love yourself 20%. Then someone comes along who loves you 30%. You might think, “wow, 30% that’s so much!” But it’s still less than half. It led to me breaking up with my now ex.

I actually made the desition of ending my 5 years relationship before watching his show. Some days before i mean, but i wasnt sure if i should go on. After watching his show, i had no doubts in my mind and i did it. That was 1 year ago, and i can say: best thing i ever did, never looked back. I didnt had other relationship after, but im happier and happier alone, and i can not see myself with someone that i dont feel like its someone special or doesnt deserve me!

Conan is so good at giving these comedians the spotlight. Sloss, Burnham, etc. Man, Conan is such a wonderful guy. Not just in the late night talk show scene. In comedy period. Like. He doesn't get enough love for how great he is.

I'm guessing its conan's plan b since a-list celebs seem to shun his show nowadays. Maybe he needs to fire his guest bookers since they have dropped the ball the last couple of years.
@placeholder56956 жыл бұрын
Especially because he actually has comedians on his show. Regular celebrities have always been a part of late night, but I feel like they've taken over. Fallon and Kimmel rarely have actual comedians on and just tend to focus on dumb trends, pranks or silly games. It's like watching a PG-13 version of the Ellen show rather than a show that focuses on comedians and actual banter and wit.
@AlanHope20136 жыл бұрын
Somebody did some research on one a them new-fangled air-sites and Conan is far and away the best host for featuring comedians, and I mean stand-ups in a feature slot, not yet another appearance by Dax Shephard, who isn't a comedian and also isn't even slightly funny, but who's on one show or another three nights a week, when Kristen is busy elsewhere. Like making a movie not one single person can remember the name of.

His comedy is very dark and intense. I loved every second of his Netflix specials. He knows way too much for a 26 year old. Conan worked on his special lol
@Caroo13136 жыл бұрын
Sadly, Conan didn't let him explain, WHY his special was ending relationships. It is essentially about happiness & loving yourself first instead of "employing someone else to do it for you". He is explaining that a lot of people end up in relationships where they aren't really happy, but since they feel so pressured by society to be in love/relationships and they don't fully love themselves they just forcefully try & make it work & change themselves in order to keep up the fassade of a happy relationship, because they can't bear being alone. And they end up being very unhappy, whether they realize it or not. Daniels stand-up simply forces them to think about their life & their relationship & whether they are happy, because we usually avoid thinking about those kinds of questions when we don't want to hear the answer. So all the ended relationships were bad for the people that were in them & Daniel simply helped them to stop lying to themselves. So he has essentially LIBERATED over 4000 people and counting from wasting possibly years of their life in a relationship that didn't make them happy & they can now learn to love themselves, how to be their own person and live their own life and THEN maybe actually find love that makes them happy. :)
@soni89956 жыл бұрын

Watching his special is a huge relief because now I know it's not either of those things, there are actually other people who think the way I do and it is as logical as I always thought.

Currently in a strained open relationship. We only started dating quite recently and essentially he’s made it clear that now he feels like he has me, he doesn’t have to put in any effort to meet my emotional needs. Hooked up with a guy who I didn’t expect to click with but I did. He knows he doesn’t have to put in effort in making me feel happy because I already have a partner but he does anyway. I’ve had a lot of issues with guys only wanting me for one thing and, surprisingly, this is the first time in a while that I felt appreciated for who I am as a person. We both admitted that we really like each other and that, while we’re going to take our time because we have other options, we’re still going to have to make a decision as to where we want to go with this. It was the other night that we were both watching this together and, though it sounds daft, it seems like a sign of some kind

But the specials are hilarious!

Think of it like this: if they blamed you then that would be proof that they didn’t have the insight to realise they weren’t in the right relationship and needed your intervention even more desperately than you realised - be a good friend and don’t allow them to waste any part of their life with the wrong person!!

Just saying I’m 23 and have had social media for probably a little over 10 years, I have seen thousands of photos of relationships and all those sorts of posts like that. I’ve never, not even once, thought they were trying to rub it in or that they think they’re better than single people in any kind of way. Very strange way to interpret someone else simply trying to be happy/proud of their relationship. I mean, I’m sure there’s people out there who DO try to rub it in and all that, I’m just willing to bet it’s an extremely small percent and obviously those relationships don’t last so why bother being so upset? Very strange it bothers this guy as much as it does.

The couples that broke up due to his show, like he said himself, were bad relationships to begin with. He’s made people realize stuff and ask themselves questions. Like are they truly happy? In his own words; it has simply worked as a medicine to stop bad and unhealthy relationships from existing. He doesn’t break up happy couples, because how could he ever have the power to do that? If you’re in a happy relationship and the happiness and love is mutual, some jokes in a show won’t affect that. And if it does, it was never what you thought it was.
