I confused some of my American friends with this. I told them how the postman/delivery driver was trying to post my package through the letterbox one time when it got stuck, so I went to the front door and just pulled it through. That took some explaining.

I'm American but I grew up in an older house that did in fact have one, but we called it a mail slot. We didn't really use it though, we had a mailbox. But I did get the joke and laughed heartily.

Daniel thank you soooo much. You have no idea the shit I've been going through the last few years, just know that you're dark humour has ALWAYS been able to make me laugh which is a bigger help than you can possibly imagine. It is no joke that you and a few other F'ed up comedians have helped get me through some of the worst years of my life just by making me laugh so hard I can't breath! Also makes some of the messed up stuff I laugh at and ideas that go through my head seem more acceptable (not sure that's a good thing lol)! Took a group of my friends to see you in Zurich and you killed them too! Keep it up!

Cities in the northeast have letter slots in the door. I actually built a box for the inside of ours, so everything didn’t drop on the floor and trip you on the way in.

'Bout everybody on my block / in my town has a "letterbox" / mailbox. More often than not, people have that, instead of a "hole in their door" / mailslot, bcuz A. The mailman doesn't want to have to fight past my dogs, to get up to the house, & B. Bcuz (House) people generally don't want you to go up to their House for ANY REASON. 🏠=☠️
