Here we go again blame culture! He left Redbull cause he realised he was no match for Verstappen, then young Lando was making him look stupid, so Maclaren let him go. Then he goes to Redbull B team, and people said he needed "time" to get up to speed after missing a few months out the sport, then he breaks hand, Lawson comes in with "no time" to settle in and makes the grinning Aussie look like the fake he has always been! It just took the rest of the world 10 years to see behind that fake annoying smile that has carried him all the way to the bank in F1. Yes that fake smile conning everyone with his personality and not talent, yes he won a few races, but so has Perez in that dominant Redbull, anyone could have won in that car! PS.I take it you are an Aussie?

I don't just feel bad for Daniel for the absolute mess of a situation this has been but also for Liam who was told he was replacing Daniel before they told Daniel. Knowing that and having to stay quiet about it is just as infuriating. For a team that prides itself on it's PR they sure did screw this up something fierce
@hishers251Ай бұрын
The facts are the sport is about performance. Drivers need to deliver. DR hasn’t shown form for a few years now, and there is a lot of talent out there. To survive and keep winning (and to hedge the possibility of Max leaving RBR) the team need to plan for expected outcomes. As harsh as it seems, all businesses need a pipeline of business, and talent (people), it’s no different for motor racing teams.
@dampaul13Ай бұрын
But his driving performances aren't the argument. How many people are saying that DR should have kept his seat vs. how his sacking was handled? It's the lack of a dignified exit, the chance for DR to say goodbye to the paddock and fans, and vice versa. What difference would it have made to announce DR sacking on the Thursday before the Singapore GP vs. a week later? What harm would an early announcement have done?
@AMI-wd1jАй бұрын
Marko has kindly now reminded us of a 2018 reneged Redbull handshake they had with Ricciardo to contract for 2019. Daniel left for Renault. I think we now know Daniel was never going to Drive for Redbull again. He brought big sponsers last year for Redbulls/Alpha Tauri, the only reason he got a drive. A sad ending for Daniel he didn't deserve this kind of send off. If he didn't know what was going down, he definitely knows now. Way to many mishaps with that car for Daniel to make any impact. He is a true Aussie very respectful and honourable about the outcome. I wish him the best.
@georgetoth55Ай бұрын
in one of the interviews Horner hinted it that the decision whether Daniel will continue racing this year will have to do with his latest results but at the end of the day it's not just Horner making those decisions. Because all of this relied on last minutes results, etc., they weren't able to say much. still, this was poorly done and Daniel didn't deserve it.

Daniel has had a long career in F1, eight times a winner. His performance in race form has not been stellar in recent seasons. Last week’s fastest lap shows he can drive, but not consistently throughout the race and qualifying. He should have been allowed to finish up the season, but I don’t think he had a contract. He’s been racing on borrowed time for a few years now. He has a great personality and still has many years ahead of him in other forms of racing, personally I would like to see him join Romain Grosjean in Indy car in the USA.

I can fully appreciate that DR fans and countrymen are upset. But DR didn't do what he was put in the team to do. When he first rejoined RBR, he well knew what was expected of him. That was the agreement. He didn't do that. And so he would have to be replaced. In terms of timing, it really is more about getting Liam ready for 2025 than intentionally treating DR poorly. They also have the priority problem of Checo. DR was put into the team because of Checo. And DR simply hasn't proved to fit into their Checo replacement plan.

He could hardly prove himself in the few races he didn't have issues in that team. In 18 of his races at Alpha/VCARB: He was crashed into on lap 1 and sent to the back of the grid. Was forced into the wall and broke his wrist. Had car damaged by Stroll's shrapnel. Had a tyre fall on his car, received 1 lap penalty. Got a tear off in brake duct forcing pit. Had a 40 second pitstop - lost 4 positions. Missed Q2 due to lap delete. Only had single practice session. Rammed by Stroll and DNF’d, received 3 grid penalty for next race. Qualified 5th but false start > 5 second penalty. Was quicker in quali but missed H2H win due to Yuki getting a tow. Had to make untested changes for sprint quali after single practice. Car issues through to end of FP2 and FP3 rained out. Went out in Q2 due to traffic and bad strat using new tyres start of session. Had to revert to used PU before race as car failed to start. Q3 messed up by Yuki crashing, bad race strat in boxing after 8 laps on mediums when in clean air, had 2 stops before Yuki’s first, was quicker but Yuki took his 9th place. Bad quali strat, did final Q2 push lap way too early, was P6, dropped to P13, quicker in race than Yuki but nothing gained. Had different setup to Yuki, car balance was out and never had it sorted before FP3 which was scrapped, went out in Q1 as expected. Had 5 second penalty in race for collision then another 10 seconds due to mechanic touching car. Final race good in practice but couldn’t get tyres up to temp in quali (like Ferrari) out in Q1.. Bad strat like Lewis starting on soft, didn’t run hards, picked up debris in race forcing early pit.

It’s terrible how they treated him. Supported him through the lower formulas, then brought him into F1, ultimately promoting him into the Red Bull team. Made him very very rich and gave him the opportunity to secure wins and a growing reputation in the sport. He repaid that loyalty and the support he had to get to F1 by leaving for another team. His fortunes waned but despite it being completely contrary to the evidence of his performances when his career was dead in the water they gave him a life line with a reserve drivers role then ultimately a race seat again, which they kept him in along time after it was clear he didn’t deserve it. What a bunch of rotters.

His career has been underwhelming at best since then. I wish him well, but I am not going to miss him in F1 as he has done not very much for years. @alexchampion4929Ай бұрын
Given how long it took for an announcement to be made, well after it was expected, I surmise there was infighting in RB between Marco, favouring Liam, and Horner, favouring Danny. I suspect that Horner may have finally relented and agreed to give Liam a very well deserved shot, unfortunately sidelining his favourite, Danny. Horner has said some borderline scathing things about Liam in some interviews and has appeared highly reluctant to recognise his talent. I think he may have agreed to give Liam a shot perhaps because he intends to replace Checco with Danny, maybe after the Mexico GP, which is why the whole thing was so poorly managed. Basically, they're making it up on the fly and Liam and Danny are caught in the crosshairs. Whichever way you cut it they both deserved better. Maybe Danny won't be coming back, who knows, but he's surely a better driver than Checco. It's super sad to see Danny go and I hope he's back in the paddock in some way, if not in a seat, ASAP. As for Liam, please don't put shade on him for this - he's a lovely guy and a talented driver who's just been placed in a really awkward spot. He really deserves to finally get a break; he's been waiting long enough.

I have to wonder if Redbull didn’t actually consider Singapore to be Danny’s last race and hence why they didn’t have issue with the timing of the announcement. From what I remember is that Danny was on loan to RB and that he would still be contracted to Redbull now despite losing his seat at RB to Liam. It makes sense they needed to get Liam in that seat to keep him and get him some track time before next season. It might be wishful thinking but maybe there is still a chance that Danny will be called in to take Checo’s seat after Mexico as previously suspected. With all the sponsors money Danny brings it seems like a bad move to lose him entirely… I’m sure Visa and Cashapp are not happy with the decision. I’m still hoping.

The sympathy for Ricciardo is insane. The situation he’s in is his own fault. Remember, it was his choice to leave a race-winning team to go elsewhere. His bad career choices, along with his management’s decisions, are not anyone else’s fault. Red Bull offered him big money to stay, but he chose not to. After his failed stint at McLaren, Red Bull tried to revived his career and gave him a second chance at the expense of Lawson . So miss me with that nonsense about him being mistreated.

Nah they should have announced he was leaving a week ago not 2 days after his last race... thats why people are mad. He should have had a proper goodbye race. Statistically, He is in the top 5% of F1 drivers ever in history... he deserved some more respect.
@dampaul13Ай бұрын
Most of what you wrote isn't the argument. How many people are saying that DR should have kept his seat vs. how his sacking was handled? It's the lack of a dignified exit, the chance for DR to say goodbye to the paddock and fans, and vice versa. *What difference would it have made to announce DR sacking on the Thursday before the Singapore GP vs. a week later?* What harm would an early announcement have done?
@md12-i3iАй бұрын
@@dampaul13 It would have made a huge difference to the weekend if it was announced properly.

Don’t think anything was dependant on Singapore, the decision had been made, Daniel knew and his heart wasn’t in it. His qualifying and race was just going through the motions, hence finishing last but going for the fastest lap point to help his mate Max

Great man Daniel , I have followed him for many years , always a smile even on the bad days , I am going to walk from Sky TV and F1 for good if they do not rectify this poor treatment and also the Max Verstap Treatment is a joke to a premier sportsman of such high performance , I hope he takes the world title and retires in style .

That makes treatment of Danny even worse and can only mean Danny was given extra races for maybe replacing Checco

Its F1, not a charity based on sympathy!

@@abritandhisbikeinpoland6802 "Here we go again blame culture" Well, it is a toxic workplace. Nobody can blame max for the person he is. Look at who his role models are; a wife-beating, overbearing daddy who lives vicariously through his son, Marko, and Horner. Three of the most hated people in the paddock. Toxic team! Toxic personalities! "Yes that fake smile conning everyone" HAHAH!!! Gee, who should we believe, some insecure max fan (you) or people who actually know DR, and have for over a decade, who all are gushing in their praise for him as a person, one of whom is MAX? That is a really, really, hard decision to make! HAHAH!!! Oh, no! Somebody actually smiles and enjoys themselves. How insecure are you?

@@dampaul13 Insecure? Me , no! I've been watching F1 since 1976, and been attending GPs since 1983 (Brands hatch) I am English, I saw Max's dad many times in F1, never liked him. From day 1 I've hated the Redbull team, its disgusting drink, the image, I can't fucking stand Christian Horner, nor his anorexic wife, I don't like Austrian dictators albeit if they have a little black moustache or a glass eye ! I've never liked Max, who is in fact a 2 times world champion not 3. I never liked Webber, or David Coultard, in fact sorry to brake the news to you pal, but you sir are another toxic key board warrior of the internet, possibly a new Netflix F1 recruit who has been watching 5 minutes and think you are F1 expert now! And you are quite possibly A an American and still havent grasped the English language yet as to what I'm "actually saying about the perpetual grinning Aussie, or B an Aussie therefore a Ricciardo fan by place of birth if nothing more! I don't follow or support someone just because they were born under the same flag, so you have got me 100% wrong! I think actually you must be a new Netflix F1 recruit, a teenager who hasn't figured out yet how to have a mature argument or debate, meaning I said things about a driver u obviously like, so you immaturely presume I must be a Max or some other driver fan. Whilst in fact for the past 20 years I have only supported Kimi Raikkonen, Lewis and Leclerc, and I've never been to Finland or Monte Carlo. So my little friend, before mummy puts you to bed, think about what someone has "actually said", and not what you pressume they said! I don't like Ricciardo for all the reasons I said, nothing more!!
